Shop 49ers game tickets
Thought it would be fun to rank them all in order.

1a) 1984 49ers
1b) 1989 49ers
3) 1985 Bears
4) 1986 Giants
5) 1987 Redskins
6) 1983 Raiders
7) 1981 49ers
8) 1988 49ers
9) 1982 Redskins
10) 1980 Raiders

The 1980 best Super Bowl Champions? That would be the Raiders - the ONLY Super Bowl winner in 1980.

(oh....maybe he meant "of the Eighties")
You have to put 1989 as number one only because it had so many good players that were not on the 1984 team like rice and Jones and Rathman and Taylor. The secondary was worse but then again holding John Elway to basically no points and making him look like s**t is a huge accomplishment

ok,,, to rank the 89 team above the 84 team just cuz the 84 team did not have certain players is kind of a slap in the face of the guys who led us to a 15-1 record in my opinion... my god wendell tyler dwight clark freddie solomon are not exactly trash. number one in offense number two in defense.. to me that was the most balanced . best coached total team we have ever had
Ranking " Best of.." is pointless ESPN airtime filler crap. k no thanks bye.

you are right but it is interesting. i do like those specials they run called 5 reasons you can not blame such and such. i think a five reasons you can not blame roger craig for threepeat or 5 reasons you can not blame kyle williams for the 2011 giants game would be interesting

I'll give you 5 reasons right now why the 49ers would have been lucky to have 3peated:

1) Never been done ever in Super Bowl era
2) Giants had extra element of hunger, and were about as good a team
3) Craig's running ability that season was more key than any fumble - drop off from 1989 was noticeable enough against an elite D
4) Giants had ridiculous fortune in that game - fake punt, Hostetler playing out of his mind converting 3rd downs like crazy, Matt Bahr concussed and nearly had final FG blocked.......and then you throw in the Craig fumble.....all had to happen in order for Giants to barely win. Just seems like if not Craig, something else. Giants almost destined to win that game.
5) Super Bowl win against Buffalo not a guarantee -- looking back at hindsight that they were 0-4 in SBs is meaningless because they really should have started out 1-0.

I was nervous as hell on that last Niner drive. I didn't expect a fumble but I guess a forced punt and Giants would somehow still win on FG. Same feeling as 2011 NFCC.

Worst part of 1990 NFCC was the death of Joe Montana not losing the game, to me.

I say that now. But as a 11 year old kid, it was as shocking a Niner loss as I can ever recall.

Depending on day of the week, argument could be made for either.

i also had no confidence in young back then to win a super bowl. hell i had little confidence he could beat dallas a few years later and was proven right. you are right about montana.. it was like our last nfc title game. the loss was not as shocking as losing bowman. to be honest i have little if any memory of what took place after bowman got hurt as i was in shock. i guess i sort of remember gore and ck putting the team on their back and willing the team down the field but really its all fuzzy
30 for 30 oughta' make a film about the 1987 49ers... The Best Team That Never Was
