Yeah, I've seen it before. I watch a ton of college football and I was very familiar with Rush before he even became a 49er. He had 7.5 sacks as a senior playing on a loaded defense. He was a solid Big 10 DE. Regardless of the B/R hyperbole, that's about it.

This happens every year it seems. Last year it was Glenn Winston. Before that it was LaVelle Hawkins. People never seem to learn that preseason production means exactly nothing.

That said, I'm all for giving Rush a 4-game tryout. I don't know how much run he's going to get, though, since I'd rather have Brooks, Carradine, and Harold on the field instead of him, even in obvious passing situations.

No I've watched him as well prior to him coming to SF...we all know preseason production means nothing but you know what's worse is having no production in preseason lol.

Whenever his had a chance to play he's done something...I'm willing to throw him out there and see what he can do the first 4 weeks...he wouldn't be the first or the last UDFA to prove his worth in this league when given a chance.

Fair enough. I'm all for a 4-week tryout. I'm just not expecting much.
Lemons run defense is way overrated. And we all know he can't rush the passer for s**t. Dude's a scrub. I'll take the potential in rush over the sub par play of lemonear any day.

I'd like to see who exactly Rush beat for his sacks this preseason. I'm going to see if I can find the highlights to see if he beat anybody who might actually make a roster. So far only found this one:

- Strip sack of Sanchez against the Broncos. He beat #66 Kyle Roberts,a 2015 UDFA out of Nevada. Roberts was cut yesterday.

That's why I said earlier I don't think he is making the team. The guys he was beating were horribad. Even Denvers starters are bad. They are back ups to a terrible o line.

There's not much potential with Rush either. He's older than Lemonier.

Lemons gone. But his roster spot could be another receiver or corner. We will probably keep rush til week 4 then be done waive him and pick him up on PS

Lemon been playing against nobodies and still had yet to show anything. The players don't get to choose who they go up against. All they can do is play their best and so far Rush's best > Lemons best.

I'm not arguing to keep Lemon. I'm arguing to keep Cromartie or Reaser.

Not a bad idea. We should be able to get by with 3 OLBs for 4 weeks.

So we should only go into the season with 3 OLBs?

Harold's been injured like every game so far. You want to count on just tank and brooks to keep some fringe CBs? We've been dealing with major injury issues the past few years. I wouldn't want to rely on having just 3 olbs

No keep rush til week 4 then waive him. Pick him back up on PS.

I'll take a Dan Skuta type player but we will see

Skuta was solid here in 2014. I get the feeling the scheme and the players around him made him look a lot better than he actually was. He was pretty much useless in Jacksonville last year.

He's probably a pretty good analog for Rush. Not sure about Rush's ST ability, though. He better have some if he has any hope of ever dressing on Sunday.

The 4th OLB was inactive most weeks last year from what I remember.

I mean who goes to jax and plays better lol...also he's not a starter and I don't think rush will be either just and to the rotation which is important.
