Even if you can do it it's hard to keep them after their rookie contract. Rivers best days are behind him and if they can't win it with LT, Merriman, Gates, etc they probably wont do anything with this current team. Probably another 7-9 win season for them as usual.

yea, but he's only 32. And in quarterback years, that is still very young. He should still be very productive in year 5 of that contract. Therefore, he is worth every penny.

he has thrown for almost 9000 yards and 60+ TDs the last two seasons. he has plenty of good days ahead of him
