Clearly the coaching staff thinks more highly of him than you do. That's why they are keeping him on the roster and hoping he stays healthy and plays well.
It's fine to disagree with their assessment of him. I just don't understand people worrying about the amount he makes.

Getting a clean up procedure 4 months ago is not same old same old. It's using your time in the offseason to get your body right for the next season so you do not end up with the "same old same old".
Time will tell if health will be on his side this year.
there is no reason for him not to be at full speed come june camp. that leads into,. he always looks good at camp and then. oh never mind

See, this is what I mean. I preferred yours posts circa 2007, they have really fallen off since TBPH IMHO.

Yeah, I agree that it's been disappointing and frustrating for fans. Personally, I don't want the FO to be making decisions based on emotions. If they think a player can be good, they should try to keep them.
Your post doesn't help me understand why you have a problem with the amount he might make, though. If it doesn't cause a problem with cap space, then why does it matter?

i do not feel he is worth the amount of money he is making or will make. to keep someone who is always hurt. does not play well when he does play and has spent more time on the bench in four years than he has on the field. just because we have the money to do so is not logical to me. its like rewarding players for doing nothing,. ward can be thrown into that mix as well

Arik has shown flashes of physical and athletic talent so it makes sense on this raw team to give him another chance.
Ward is an insurance policy, he'll be gone soon enough if he can't stay healthy and perform at a pretty high level.

What I'm saying is that it's highly unlikely that they are keeping him just because they have the money. The reason they are probably keeping him is that they disagree with you about his worth as a player. They are paying him because they believe he is worth it.
My point is that the amount of money he makes is irrelevant. You don't think he's worth any amount of money. The money he will make will not hurt the team, though.
