Agree but wonder if the LBs are up to the task of catching runs the aggressive line misses? We have some speedy LBs which should help, but when your DL super aggressive they tend to make mistakes...or just be past the RB before they know it. It will still be better than last year with Armstead playing with one arm and Buckner being pushed back by double teams...playing too conservatively.

We got a solid test week 1 against that Carolina Cheese offense. Let's see if they actually are able to use McAff and Samuel consistently throughout the game.

Why can't Buck, Thomas and AA be part of a 4 man D-Line on pass-rush downs (along with Lynch or Pita or whoever) and 1 LB and 6 DBs ?

The reason a 4 man line of ST, AA, and Buckner may not work on passing downs is 1 of those guys has to play end. Ideally speaking all 3 are interior nickel rushers. Solomon will play some nickel end he's talented enough to play anywhere but the bulk of his nickel snaps will come as an interior rusher. I think someone brought up an unbalanced line and that can be used as well.

And that's why I believe Thomas is working with Ware and not Warren Sapp. I hope ThomaS is good enough to rush from LDE. I already got Lynch pencilled in as RDE in pass.
Thomas can play anywhere.

And dominate.

Really there's 2 strong passing lines we can use. Lynch, Buckner, AA, Thomas and Lynch, Buckner, Thomas, Brooks/ Pita. Personally I think we'll do better with the latter one. You have Thomas who can instantly shed his guard, crashing ends on the outside, and Buckner cleaning up.
Having scope for change is a good thing.

You need as many big bodies as possible on your DL.
Another thing flying under the radar is how much these Seattle off-shoot defenses generate pressure with stunts and blitzes. Our guys are not going to be depended on to solely win their matchups. These types of defenses love to engineer pressure with an assault of stunts and blitzes. SEA, ATL, and JAX all throw a barrage of stunts at opposing offenses. I expect Saleh to do the same.

Expect to see a lot of stunts like these:

I am trying to find this sweet stunt+blitz combo SEA ran on LA. They absolutely annihilated Goff.

I could see the lighter, quicker guys like Pita, Blair, and Thomas in a stunt package.

I love the above vids.

I would love for us to implement stunts like this.

I believe the main lineup will be something like--Lynch/Armstead/Thomas/Buckner. Buckner is a very good penetrator and quicker than most seem to believe. He can get up the field to contain the end. But they will need LBs who can chase.

I'd cream my pants if AA won the LEO position.
This guys destiny is in his own hands now.

Everything is set up for him to have a very successful career.

No doubt...we have quite a few players we can use to stunt with. Armstead, Buckner, Jones, Thomas, Brooks, etc. Use those big boys.

This. We could use a ton of different lineups to run many combinations of different stunts. Can't wait to see what Saleh & Co come up with during the season!
