It's the same position Justin Smith plays. If Smith retires, Dockett can replace him. The 49ers are set for now at that position.

The Seahawks' old left guard, James Carpenter, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the New York Jets, according to Mike Garafolo. The Seahawks new left guard, C.J. Davis, hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2012.

Davis has no chance against him. Dockett is a devastating pass-rusher, arguably a better pass-rusher than the man he might replace—Justin Smith.

What the hell? He did not play right defensive tackle his entire career. I know for a fact he played mainly left defensive end in 2013. Then in nickel subpackage he played left defensive tackle. Not only does Cohn not know football, he doesn't know left and right.

Dockett is gonna be a leader early on for this team, could be one of the best quietest move all offseason

Dockett is going to be a great addition. Now the fact that Seattle lost two starting o-line including Unger in Fa doesn't help their offense at all.

Why bring this up?

I think the year off will help Dockett. Enough time to heal and RECOVER from lots of pounding.

We need one more from the other side.

Would love it if Justin returned and played on the right and Dockett on the left

Picking up graham was a solid move no doubt but i think a lot of people are overlooking what they lost. I think the loss of unger is bigger than the addition of graham.
