Ultimately its a business, and sometimes it doesnt make sense to keep a player. If the 49ers have a max number that they could keep Gore with, based on their cap situation, and Gore doesnt feel its on a respectable level for his abilities, then thats how it goes. The Colts might offer Gore twice what we can afford, and more carries. In that case you dont burn a jersey, you just chalk it up to things not being in the cards.

Every time I see fans burning a jersey, I always think "The only thing theyre doing is wasting the money they spent, and breathing in chemical fumes. Good job. "

I won't be cursing the team if we can't match offers for Frank. Now if we get into the season and see we suck toting the rock then I will be very upset. I am the type to go along with rational decision making so long as the payoff is there but if it backfires we sure as hell would be steamed. Now one must also consider that we paid Frank over $6.5 million dollars each of the last 2 seasons even though outsiders were questioning why we would. This past season in particular seemed as if we were hell bent on paying Frank to show him we appreciated what he did. Sure he has earned his pay and then some but the fact of the matter is that a lot of teams aren't paying backs and we did!

Frank Gore has been with us a decade so no one can have ill will towards Gore until we inevitably face off against him if he were to leave us. At least Jed said we will try to keep Frank here

Lol....I don't own a Gore jersey. I think it's silly for a grown man to wear a shirt with a mans name on it.
