Yup. Seattle was going to crush them regardless, but you'd like to see the refs get it right. One of these days a game could be decided by a missed call like that.

Not saying they would have lost but these ref "mistakes" at Century Link are getting too numerous to mention.
I remember a roughing the kicker penalty that they called running into the kicker that may have cost us last season's NFC Championship.

I'm noticing a pattern here with all of these supposed missed calls with these Seahawks in important situations and how quickly the refs are to flag the opposing team on 4th down when on defense. Either the Seahawks are the luckiest team ever or something bigger is up. I might be paranoid and just talking out of my ass but this seams way too common for me to just brush it off.

Another thing that's fishy is how all of the sudden the Seahawks are the cleanest pass defense team in league now that the new rule is in place, having only been flagged once through preseason through today.

No. When the o-lineman has advanced beyond 1 yard of the LOS, that tells the entire defense it's a run play, and the ball CANNOT be thrown. That affects the thought process of every defender on the field, and it's why they all converged on Wilson and let Lockette loose.

The ball cannot be thrown once a lineman is downfield for this exact purpose. The rule is to prevent teams from using cheap tricks such as this. If you wan't to sell run, you use play-action, not this. It's a penalty, period.

The CB wasn't watching the center. I'm pretty sure nobody was. It was a read option. They were watching the QB. They didn't rush the QB because the center took one step forward.

The LOS was at the 33 yard line, the center initiated his block on the DE, took a step forward and met the LB, who came up to meet the RB, at the 32 yard line.

Hell, the C's right foot is almost touching the G's left foot... That's not downfield.

Really? The centers left foot is on the 30 yard line by the time Wilson throws the ball lol how are you trying to argue this lol

And as a linebacker, you key on the guards, center and full back. For the most part they tell you where the play is going. If linemen explode off the line, it's a run. If their first step is back, then it's a pass

i haven't seen a luckier team in my 35 years of watching the NFL. it's really mind boggling. Wilson must be a leprechaun.

There was so much offensive line holding in this game that was not called. It almost looked like the refs were so concerned about receivers and db penalties they blew it in the trenches.

Happy to translate whenever you need it, bro.

This is an obvious "Illegal Man Down Field" call. Some people just don't know what they're talking about.

Yes, anything beyond one yard is downfield. The defense misplayed it because it was a "run read". The block is not inconsequential, at least to Eric Davis, whose explanation was very clear. I thought the same thing when I saw the re-run of the play last night and was telling my wife that they should have been called for an illegal blocker downfield. It's not a grey area. He's at least 3-4 yards downfield. Penalty.

this!
Pete has that entire team bending the rules in ways you just can't catch, it won't end, nor will it be called, they are gonna get away with this s**t and keep getting away with it. League don't care, they're already scripting their dynasty at this point. Great lesson for the kids, cheat as long as you bend the rules enough not to get caught.

It's starting to become a serious problem, if it wasn't already. Points in the NFL are GOLD. They have to be earned, legitimately.

Seattle is very sneaky. Getting away with holding is one thing, but getting away with illegal plays that gain chunk yardage and an easy 7 points is concerning.

I'm hoping it's all just a screw up. That it wasn't a purposeful cheap play, and the center just made a mistake the officials failed to catch. But if it was by design, it's a big problem. That won't be the last time they pull off something like that, and it will mean the difference in a ball game.

Too late for that lol

Seattle wouldve whooped them regardless but wow that was a blatant penalty.
Add it to the growing list of indictments for this fraudulent "champion"

All of humankind will only grow in their hatred of that importunate, illegitimate franchise and target them more thoroughly for merciless annihilation.

Yeah. Its not really about the fact that they would won anyway. If its a penalty, it needs to be called. Somehow Seattle just gets away with anything and everything. Unfortunately, I dont think that's going to change.
I belive it was by design. They tried similar play just after Maxwell interception. Several ineligible offensive players were more than a yard beyond the line of scrimmage before the forward pass has been thrown. RG #64 Sweezy and RT #68 Britt are at least 3 yards beyond when tha ball was thrown:
