for those who watched in him College...does he look faster to you?
From all the film and tape and scouting I did (watch a few youtube videos) he looks way more explosive than he did in college. I knew he was a stud blocking RB and was at least highly productive, but man he jumped out today. I guess I take back all the mean things I said about him before.

How good is Hyde with pass catching? Looks great on everything else.

we won't even need him for that. In the future, the change of pace back will do that. (Hunter, James, Lattimore)

he is great at it. he did all of this at ohio state. there's no transition needed. all he needed to do was learn his responsibilities but the read option and the pass blocking and the tough running.. that's all he did at ohio state.

This. We have a guy that can pretty much do everything. And the coaching staff knows it and aren't afraid to use him. When I saw him in on critical downs I knew the coaching staff believed. There is still a place for the speed back that LaMichael James is. I don't think he is even Kendall Hunter at this point. But he is better than what he has shown. We saw his rookie season, even with the fumbles, that he can be productive as a backup

I told people it was a blessing in disguise when we lost Hunter. It allowed us to carry another spot on the roster, and it has allowed us to give more practice reps to Hyde, and he is blossoming into something special, and is going to be a huge difference maker for us this year.

they need to figure out how to use him. i think screen passes are best for james. he always gets the throw away plays and hardly gets any blocking.

Hes so strong in his lower body with his legs. And hes fast, and quicker then you expect. Hes light on his feet and real shifty. Hes got really good vision too. What I like best about him is that it looks to me that hes looking to hit you before you hit him.

Dudes, Hyde looked like he was fired out of a cannon on all of his runs. I couldn't believe how fast he would eat up five yards. I think seeing Gore start all these years has gotten me used to a running back with average speed. If Chris Johnson and Marshawn Lynch somehow had a baby together and created this perfect blend of speed and power, that would be Carlos Hyde.
I loved when they ran Gore on 2 plays, then Hyde on the 3rd and 4th runs. It was a perfect one-two punch to eat up the clock and yards. Hyde could be a huge factor in how far we go this season, especially when we are trying to run out the clock or on the goal line. LaMichael James is on his last legs as a 49er. And don't forget, Marcus Lattimore may be a mid-season activation. I've heard he's an incredible talent, so our running game by the home stretch might be our biggest asset. That's on an offense that's already stacked with other team's number one receivers.
