That's not true....the offseason after Gore rushed for 1695 he said he wanted to be a 2000 yard rusher.

If you are a RB in the NFL and you DON'T want to lead the league in rushing yards then I really hope you are playing for some other team.

This
"Running back Carlos Hyde hit the edge hard on a number of runs and appears quicker than he was throughout the offseason program. General manager John Lynch said Thursday he thought Hyde looked "tremendous."

"He really has dedicated himself. He's changed his body type this offseason and that to me at the least bit shows a commitment," Lynch said."
#49ersCamp Notes - Day 1: Carlos Hyde looks fast. Really fast. His weight loss is obvious and he beat the defense to the edge several times. -Rob Lowder
Sounds like he could beast if he can stay healthy

Yes and no. 22 guys on the field. If he gets his he did his job and really opens it up for others to do their job. If he said other alluding things maybe but i hope every guy on our team hopes to be the best at their position or what the hell are they 49ers for

I like Hyde, but he's going to ask for big money if he has a good season.

Could be wrong but I think the only RB a Shanahan has ever paid was Hofer T.Davis. Hyde is not on this roster in 2018 if he's good or bad this year assuming we don't trade him.

We can always tag and trade him.

He's as good as gone. This will be his last year here.

Really depends on how he does this year. With plenty of cap space the 49ers could opt to stay with him if he performs exceptionally.

He doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. If he stays healthy, who knows.

I have no issues resigning Hyde if he finally lives up to his potential and stays healthy, dude no doubt has the talent but I feel in shanahan's system lynch can draft a guy between rounds 2-5 and he'll have success

You can find a dozen RBs in each draft that can play well behind an excellent OL. Guys who can play well almost independent of their OL are a lot more rare.

I think Hyde falls into that category. Based on OL performance, his expected YPC was 3.89. He exceeded that substantially, all while facing Top 3 run defenses five times during last season.

He is an exceptional RB. If he can finally kick the injury bug he could be an absolute monster in this scheme, even without a dominant OL. A guy like that you are generally willing to open the pocketbook for.
