Nah, it started before that. The first draft was such a whiff.

I still can´t believe that they thought this was a good idea.

Keeping Armstead and Ward doesn't bug me as much as drafting Javon Kinlaw with the pick they got for Buckner.

Things would look a lot different right now if it was Armstead, Ward, AND CeeDee Lamb or Tristan Wirfs.

Agreed.

Trading Buckner was really questionable and a bummer. But CeeDee Lamb--not even applying 20/20 hindsight; this guy truly is who I wanted and looked special--in favor of KINLAW?! Another Solomon Thomas, Armstead kinda pick where it just felt with every fiber of your soul like it was bound to be a bust?

Some busts you can excuse. Crabtree comes to mind; JJ Stokes. There are others that just feel destined to fail. And Shanny/Lynch love going for em. Thomas and Kinlaw are basically Kentwan Balmer kinda picks, but even Balmer was like 28 or 29 overall--not 3 and 11 or whatever Kinlaw was.
The players and fans can question Lynch and Kyle all they want but they have to remember that they were the ones that rebuilt a terrible roster into a team that went to a SB. Did they suddenly become incompetent? Sure they've made mistakes but every team does. For every team that picks up a good free agent there's another team that lost a good player. Teams pass up players in the draft that go on to become pro bowl caliber players. Look at all the teams that passed on Rogers. Mahomes. Even Herbert was only the 3rd QB taken.

When players get frustrated with losing some start looking around for someone to blame. Others take responsibility themselves and play better. Where are the INTs Jimmy?

I don't think ward was trying to throw shade at lynch with his comments. He was just answering the question honestly.

So this right here. Picking Kinlaw showed me that it was all about money and not wanting to pay Buck his contract. It would've been sweet to have Ceedee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, Justin Jefferson or Tristan Wirf.

So I ask again. What has he done to help them win. He's supposed to be a leader in that defensive backfield. They haven't got a single INT. Do something big before you start questioning others. I'm not saying Ward is playing bad but he and the other DBs aren't showing much back there. Zero INTs after 5 games. You would think they would have at least had a lucky bounce by now.

I believe Kyle preferred Aiyuk over the other receivers who we're currently available at that specific time. That also may have played a part In the decision to replace Buck with Kinlaw.. basically, they thought they could kill two birds with one stone, Instead of drafting the best player available. It's looking like another big miss from Kyle when It comes to passing on the other receivers for Aiyuk.
His interview was revealing. That Buck trade pissed the players off and that's why we have seen a drop off.

Wouldn't that be considered another mistake by the FO then? . Not replacing a safety who fails to produce turnovers.?

It would have made more sense to have Re-signed Buck, allowing AA and Ward to test free agency, before replacing Ward through the draft.

Seems like a massive jump to conclusions. I would put the Verrett, Williams, and Greenlaw injuries much further ahead as to why we aren't as successful on defense right now. Should get 2 of them back but Verrett was a huge part of last years defense so that hurts bad.

Agree. However, it's never a good move when you trade a locker room leader, especially one that is also a very good player.

Could easily mean we have a better defensive line, but worse secondary. Moore could still end up being that guy, who knows since.....he's injured

The guy is literally saying they took a leader away on and off the field. I don think he was crucifying anyone per say, just being honest. Injuries tend to happen when you gamble on players with injury histories.. Also a reflection of management. I think Jimmy is simply as frustrated as the fans. Guess what, the defense is by far the better squad as of this post lol.
