I really wonder what the coaches see in him. I usually defer to them since they see a lot more of these guys than we do but I have never seen him making big plays even when he's on the field, which isn't very often.

I really wonder what the coaches see in him. I usually defer to them since they see a lot more of these guys than we do but I have never seen him making big plays even when he's on the field, which isn't very often.

IMHO, I think coaches and GM's are human and struggle seeing outside the building at times, have blind spots for positions/players (BE/IDL) and genuinely build relationships with players that greatly affect their perception (like a parent) of reality. There's quite a list of those players already with this regime. But with Ward, it's certainly reached an unhealthy level.

i hope lynch is smart enough to draft a good rookie in may round three. if lynch totally ignores safety in the draft and is putting his eggs into the ward basket.. well. i just do not know

well when he first took over lynch said... we expect ward to be a key piece of our defense. that is something that you always sort of wish that a gm of another nfl team would say

Don't forget we have Colbert too. Unless we get a single-high specialist in the second it's unlikely he'll start. That would be a waste of a pick IMO. I'd rather go interior OL, TE, or WR in the second.

i have always said.. get a nice safety in round 3.. i assume the guy from iowa and the savage guy will be gone by then. but there has to be someone at three that could help us right away and be better than ward or pop tart

Totally agree with CC. (Not something you hear every day!) Reid is an above average SS. Ward is C-/D+ at best.
