another Eric Reid in the books.
eric does not deserve to be in the same category of ward in my opinion. he wasl above average for a bit for us. ward has not even been average

Totally agree with CC. (Not something you hear every day!) Reid is an above average SS. Ward is C-/D+ at best.

Reid is probably as good as Tartt, but actually stays healthy more than him too.

CC, if Jimmie makes the probowl this year, will you buy his jersey?

Don't forget we have Colbert too. Unless we get a single-high specialist in the second it's unlikely he'll start. That would be a waste of a pick IMO. I'd rather go interior OL, TE, or WR in the second.

i have always said.. get a nice safety in round 3.. i assume the guy from iowa and the savage guy will be gone by then. but there has to be someone at three that could help us right away and be better than ward or pop tart

Savage is impressive but he seems like a box safety. This D really needs that deep center fielder type.
I wouldn't be mad if he fell to the 3rd (spoiler....he won't)

i will be to busy hiring someone to install a two way lock on my door to keep me isolated from the general population
I hope this is Wards year. He should of been a free safety from the beginning.

I worry that some of you guys are going to stroke out with this hate . He got a one-year contract. So what? Lynch has shown that he is not an idiot or a moron.

He is keeping and paying a bunch of money to a often injured under achieving player who is unable or unwilling to make plays on the rare times he sees the field. yes.. that would qualify as being moronic for signing him
CC, Lynch is a pro bowl and HOF candidate former safety. If he sees something in another safety, I'll sticking with his take over a wise and experienced WZ poster like yourself. Lynch must see some value in him to give him one last shot.

Lynch acknowledged that his move was controversial. We'll see what Ward does with his chance. If nothing is changed, not much skin off of anyone's nose, and it certainly would not make Lynch's decision "moronic" in the grand scheme of things. Cheers!

Eric was above average when our front 7 was elite.
the 1976 gold rush front four would not help ward be average in my opinion

LMAO. Awesome post. I do think its overstated on here of who helped who. To the point where certain guys don't get their due. Eric Reid was a good player for us. He and Jimmy Ward aren't in the same state.

eric had smart guys like whitner and bethea to help him out.. ward had sherman who is better than those two and he still was worthless. i just do not like reid cuz he destroyed bowmans career but what the hell. norton did the same thing to dent

ok,,, help me ., in the game when we played kansas city and lost when joe beat steve... someone broke dents leg that game. i swear it was norton. because i was thinking at the time.. man his play is crappy and now he hurt dent. then he calmed down and became very good for us.. i thought it was he who broke dents leg. maybe i am wrong. i just know because of that. we ended up calling tim harris who gave us the pass rush we needed that year

He is fine. he knows he has job security no matter what. jesus if there is a hot shot safety in round 2 or 3 to be had. i would run up to the podium. push owens out of the way and announce it
