LMAO. I used to be too patient on players because of injuries. Now I have zero patience for it.

Lol that gif tho

Some guys get injured a lot because of their style of play (like Foster), and that can be coached. Some guys are just made of glass and get hurt more easily than others. The ability to stay healthy and be available is an "attribute" just like size, speed, or strength. It's amazing to me how little importance some GM's, coaches, and fans place on it.

I wish I wouldn't have looked this up, but Demarcus Lawrence went 4 picks after Jimmie Ward.

Meh, Lawrence is definitely a better pro than he was a college player.

It's all good. We're gonna sign Lawrence next year
A backup that gets injured before the starters.

It feels like we change his position every season. I know he's had health problems, but we haven't done him any favors.

maybe because he is no good and rather than just admit it. they are desperately trying to find a place for him but every time he gets hurt without being touched by another player

Well at least Armstead can say he's in the trenches bangin around with the NFL big boys (interior OL). Ward is getting hurt in conditioning drills and when running downfield. Last year he pulls a hammy and misses camp and the preseason when he was supposed to be practicing for his new role as free safety. This year he did something to his ankle(?) and missed mini camp. If Ward wants to learn outside CB in this scheme, he needs to get on the practice field.
This guy has had so many foot problems his stride is a frickin booby trap for every muscle in his lower body. Flush this useless turd.
There's a question about Ward that I've had for awhile that I thought I'd ask during the "dead" time after minicamp - does anyone know if the 9ers went ahead with Ward's large 2018 salary (going through with the fifth year option since he was drafted in the 1st round) because he was still injured in mid-March and his contract was guaranteed for injury, or if he wasn't still injured and they went ahead even though he didn't have an injury? (I hope that made sense.)
He's still on our team. Does that answer your question?

I had a feeling I didn't ask the question very clearly. Ward had a contract where if he was hurt at the mid-March deadline, he couldn't be released from the team and his salary was guaranteed (like Kap in 2016). I am wondering if he is still on the team because of the "guaranteed against injury" clause in his contract or if he had healed by the mid-March deadline and Shanahan and Lynch decided to go ahead and pay him his full salary because they thought he was worth it.

I hope that made better sense. I ask because there has been some fairly negative comments here about Lynch keeping Ward on this year with such a large contract. But if Lynch essentially had to keep Ward on because of the "guaranteed against injury" clause in his contract, then it's seems like there wouldn't be as much reason to be critical of Lynch on Ward still being on the team.
