Ward is really one of our best young guys. Lot of people around here called him a bust for a while.....

According to Sakamoto : targeted 10 times, gave up 5 completions for 52 yards. Also had 4 pass breakups.
For Fitzgerald to write what he did on his jersey, Ward should be proud of his efforts. Did he give up some plays, yeah, he did, but so have virtually all his predecessors to the great LF. What Fitz did was let Jimmie know he's on his way to becoming a fine young DB. I think it's a very classy move on LF's part and one I'm sure Ward will be very proud to receive, as he most definitely should be.

Not sure how giving up 100+ yards to both starting WR's constitutes having a good game.

You do realize Ward wasnt matched up with Fitz all game right?

Did you actually watch the game?

All game long hah? Like the whole game?

I guess you missed those 4 PBUs. Give the guy a break. He has nowhere near the pass rush that other corners have. Ex. Marcus Peters

Fitz is the definition of a classy football player. Ward should definitely take this to heart and continue ue putting in the hard work. That jersey with a personal note is a special gift that hopefully does wonders for Wards confidence.

Not to shabby for getting 10 targets at him.

With such a man crush on Peters, I'm surprised you care about completions allowed. I saw what Fitz saw

Hahaha so true. I saw peters get smoked on a 50 yard td by a marginal wr in funchess.

Bingo. Ward is very solid and has no help on defense unlike other good CBS

You know he doesn't. He just spends his time in the 24/7 thread. Spews garbage like this all the time.
I wouldn't read much into Fitz comments either way. You don't do that to someone who shut you down or someone you abused. That's something you do for someone who got a few plays on you but you still won.

Ward gave up 52 yards to Fitz
Loved the way Ward played last sunday, played aggressive and willing. Some of y'all need to make up your mind... if he played like crap he'll probably be called soft but when he plays aggressive and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the ball or tackle he's called dirty? Ward played well, yes he gave up some catches but he made the WR earn every yard of it... whether it was Floyd or Fitz.

lol Fitz prolly just said that because he abused him all game long.

only so much you can do when there's no pass rush...
Yea its funny how we can say he had a good game, and in the same breath say he had a crappy one. He made some deflections, played hard, but also gave up a pass interference, 2 holding calls, all for first downs, also the game clinching completion to Fitz

ehh, the game clincher was the 3rd down completion to Johnson on Bellore. Once that happened, I knew it was over barring a shank from their kicker. Fitz is one of the best in the game, even at his age. Ward held him to 52 yards. That's phenomenal. Everyone just sees the numbers Fitz ended with and assumes that was all on Ward but it wasn't. Not even half was against Ward
