Jeff Deeney @PFF_Jeff Not surprised Martin was let go. -10.9 overall grade in 2014. As much as #49ers talk about Pears competing at LG, I see him as swing tackle.

Cooper is crap too though. KC benched him because of his play last season. Niners fans just get rage eyes because he had like 2 good games his rookie season. Dude is not a good player.

Forget blaming Baalke or JH it's on Martin for not improving on his game and getting better. Thus he's gone.

All sixth round picks traded to other teams should net players of Boldin's caliber, like that one GM netted.
Obviously that was a Harbaugh brothers deal.
Except John never knew about the trade...neither did Boldin. So it sounded like a trade between Baalke and Ozzie.

"It was very painful. I still blame Ozzie (Newsome)," John Harbaugh joked with reporters before Saturday's practice, referencing the team's general manager. "I'm still sore from that deal. But it was something we had to do together.
"We tried like crazy to keep Anquan. We fought like crazy, but we were fighting against a number. And those numbers are things that sometimes aren't as pliable as you'd like them to be... And that was our issue on that one. We certainly didn't want to trade Anquan Boldin. He was one, if not, our best player."

Not to sound like a complete jerk, but everyone says the Martin deal was Harbaugh's doing, but when we talk Boldin, that's al because of Baalke? I'm sure Harbs had a say in the deal, he must of said to Baalke go and get him.
You don't sound like a jerk at all! John Harbaugh went on record and said he knew nothing about the trade...as did Boldin (hell, he was in a foreign country when it went down). And why would John want to get rid of Boldin after he just helped them win a Superbowl against Jim? And does anyone imagine Jim heading upstairs and saying, "Hey, Trent...you should call Ozzie about Boldin. He's being put on the trading block. John just told me."
Sorry, just highly unlikely. It's much easier to tie all the QB's and Jonathan Martin to Harbaugh that Baalke got FOR him b/c Harbaugh was supposed to be the QB whisperer (Baalke admitted CK was Jim's pick) and b/c Harbaugh had a history with Martin.

I wonder if they would have cut Martin if Harbaugh was still here. Very glad they've moved on. In the NFL, an offensive lineman has to be nasty, has to be a fighter. He wasn't that.

Thank you! I remember an original report that said he knew nothing about it...

Funny how he and Looney were our two best OL in pre season. He looked pretty good in PP and average in run blocking. We didn't realize how good Davis is at run blocking until he came back. Big difference.

For me, I don't know how good of a GM Baalke is. This season will be really telling. Unfortunately, as you did above, you have already judged the offseason signings before our team has had a PRACTICE. I'd rather wait and see what all this perceived madness is all about.
I'm judging based on their careers. Pears was an average LG at best, better OT. Bush to me has never impressed me, even when he came out I never wanted him in 2006. Dockett is coming off an ACL injury, and has had a down yr for 3-4 years now. Smith is the best signing, if we actually throw more. Wright has been horrible in bhis career.
I say these are bad signings, $$$ wise, I think we overpaid on these guys. Wright, and Pears arent worth that kind of money. To me they view Pears as their LG, because they paid him a good amount of money. They think Wright is either starter or Nickleback.
I even view the Cook signing as too much money. He was average in Minny, and I never thought he would make the 2014 roster, and the he got hurt. I can't believe he got more than the minimum.

What has Roby done? In fact name me some CBs drafted after Ward that have been better? Breeland and DJ had decent years but that's about it....

Another $2 million is available through incentives. 2015: $1.45 million (+ $200,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: $1.45 million (+ $200,000 roster bonus),
