NFC West 2014=Bow down NFL, and to the 4 teams in it... you better bring your big boy pads

Here's how silly this whole thing is. Last year in Atlanta, the Seahawks scored a TD with less than a minute left to take a 28-27 lead. Everybody is going nuts. Atlanta is able to drive down and attempt a FG. It misses! Oh wait, Carroll called a time out. This time it doesn't miss. We are 1 silly call away from having had 2 consecutive NFCW NFCCG showdowns. I fully expect we'd be seeing a 3rd straight next season.

I really don't know honestly. Just because the Hawks blew out the Broncos, doesn't suddenly mean every team in the NFC West is dramatically better. I really think it was just the match up. Our strength is in our secondary. Imagine how the Colts fans must feel knowing the Colts beat the Broncos, Seahawks and Niners this year.

These physical battles are going to inevitably lead to injuries. We would be wise to add depth across the board. The only place we're really stacked right now is RB. You could argue for depth at pretty much every other position on the team.

Due to contracts and obvious needs, I'd say the top 3 right now are: WR, CB, and S.

I'd say we are stacked at: OL, TE, IL, OL, DL, RB

Wanted to bring up the status of the NFC west in 2015… I think the division as a whole is about to take a step back due to questionable offensive lines across the division.

Projection:
1) Seattle: Lynch and that defense will still keep them in the hunt for a top playoff spot, but years of neglecting that O-line seems to be catching up to them at least from the looks of preseason. Still a 10 win team but they will need their defense in its entirety to stay healthy to get any more than that. If they get hit with the injury bug, their fall from grace could be earlier than anticipated (likely next year or after due to their cap) and leave the division wide open to whoever fixes their O-line first. Lockett on special teams was probably their best move of the season as I wanted us to draft him badly and timely returns will help out that offense more than anything else they've done in the offseason.

2) Arizona: If Palmer can stay upright, they could easily be the team to beat in the division. They were the best team in it last year until his injury. But again… offensive line issues and Palmers injury past makes that seem unlikely. If he stays healthy it could be a 12 win team, if that line causes him an injury in the first 8 games they could finish 3rd.

3) SF: The O-line is gonna give us some major headaches. The lack of pass rush from the Brooks and Smith sagas will also hurt. But the team still has a ton of talent. The young secondary looks promising and its a huge IF but IF the O-line can somehow gel similar to the 2011 season this team could still surprise for a late run. Having Brooks opposite of Lynch would be a miracle but no reason to pin our hopes on that. Our boys should finish middle of the pack with plenty of highlights and lowlights throughout this season, 8 wins.

4) St. Louis: After many years of trying to fix their O-line and QB situation, they still look just as dysfunctional as ever. With all those draft picks on defense it has the potential to be the best in the league but they seemingly lack the cohesion to ever truly become the best of the best. Just no confidence that they take the leap thats been projected for them in the past 4 years. Reminds me allot of the Nolan/Singletary era where every year was supposedly the year they put it all together and get over the hump. 6 wins

I like how you base the success of these teams on O-Lines....couldn't agree more. The team with best protection probably gets best QB play/offensive production in this division.

Wilson tends to do more with less protection due to his unorthodox style of play but I think the O-Line coming down even further from years past will start to dig into that team.
