RT @JameyEisenberg: Just spoke to Anquan Boldin. He said Torrey Smith going to #49ers is done deal. Said he helped with recruiting.

Anquan has been the best thing about this team post SB47.

Truth!

Without him we would be LOST! lol

Or even more lost, depending on your perspective

I've actually followed FSU football for 20 or so years. That's why anquan had always been one of my favorites. I remember when he came to FSU as a Qb and made the switch to WR flawlessly. I so badly wanted him in the 2003 draft to be TOs replacement. Now a wish he would have missed that one gane n February of 2013, but having him on this team has been great and I can honestly say he is my favorite #81....(TO burnt his bridge with me the way he helped blow this s**t up in 2003-04).

Agreed! Great insight from an FSU fan! For someone who doesn't watch much college football myself, even I could tell AQ was a stud despite running a slow 40 time. His highlights/game-film personified greatness.

Anquan Boldin says he doesn't think "leadership will be a problem this season." Pointed to himself, Bowman and Kaepernick as team leaders.

Q has been the players' voice this offseason so far. If you listen to him and shut out everything else, makes you feel alot more confident about where this team is going.

Boldin also said he understood that yearly changes come with the territory of being a professional athlete."We're looking at the age of free agency," Boldin said. "You know every year that the team is going to look different, you're just not sure how different it's going to look.

This year we have some moving pieces, guys retiring, guys moving on to play with other teams. "So although you hate to see it, it's something that you have to get over as quick as possible, just embrace the new guys you have and you get to work as soon as possible."

Because the 49ers have first-year head coach Jim Tomsula in place, the club can begin offseason workout programs as early as April 6.That's a good place for San Francisco's new-look leadership to start taking shape.

Q seems to be picking up some of that leadership role for the players quite nicely.

Q is a grown man. Hope some "fans" in here follow suit.
Alpha males on this team:

Boldin > Baalke >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lisa making tamales >>> Jed York.

I can definitely imagine Q walking up to the FO and saying "Our WRs corp needs Torrey Smith.."

And you did notice that Anquan Boldin did not bother to denigrate anybody.

I can definitely picture walking up to York and Baalke and asking if there was anything that he could do to help.

I had mentioned earlier, I've been following anquan since his FSU days. He came in as a qb and was switch to a WR during his tenure. Anyways I stumbled across this this video of him uncorking a nice pass (unfortunately the pass was dropped) vs Georgia in the 2002 sugar bowl. Starting qb chris rix hit suspended and backup Fabian walker was ineffective so they where trying anything to get pass game going.

You don't know went on between the walls.

No, and neither do you. His scenario is, however, more plausible than your slanted blather.

Boldin, a veteran talent and vocal leader, getting fed up with his team only effectively fielding possession receivers which leads to clogged lanes and more physical receptions, saying to the FO "we need a downfield threat (my buddy)" is within the realm possibility. I'm sure he offered his assistance too.

And it was more of a quip, I wasn't bantering with anyone.
So lets say we get to the big dance and add our next Lombardi. Would AB retire as a Niner? Card? Raven?
