The NFL is pretty good about scheduling teams that play on Thursday's to late sunday or monday

Week 2 KC played Thursday then played Monday of week 3 they had 10 days off.

Most teams that play Thursday get 9 days off

The amount that teams get off AFTER the Thursday night game is not the issue at all. Its the amount of time that teams get off PRIOR to a Thursday night game is the issue.

The sloppiness and poor overall product is a direct reflection of how little time these players/teams have to recover and prepare. If a team plays Sunday, they have exactly 4 days until their next game. They most likely have Monday off to let their bodies rest. Then they have Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare (sometimes with a flight on Wednesday to get to the location of their Thursday night game), and then a walkthrough on Thursday. Does anyone really think that this is ample time for a team to recover and prepare?

So what do they get a bye before the Thursday game and after it as well? Otherwise after the Thursday game they'd have to play on Sunday. Unless you're giving each team 2 byes that are essentially used back to back

So what do they get a bye before the Thursday game and after it as well? Otherwise after the Thursday game they'd have to play on Sunday. Unless you're giving each team 2 byes that are essentially used back to back

No Thursday night games are part of the coming weekend. So byes would be shortened by three days but then they would get 10 days off after the Thursday night game.

Yeah I get it. Teams lose time prior. It's also gained after. It's like saying the two teams who play a sloppy game on Thursday will play great games the following week because they have more time to prepare. Not true at all. Philly got blown out by TB at home on a Sunday then went to Detroit on Thursday and got blown out there.

Not really different from a West Coast team playing a Monday game and having to travel to the east coast for a Sunday game and losing a day to travel. Thursday games are always night games. So the light walk around practices they normally have on a Saturday can happen on Thursday morning. For one week they lose a day and don't get a day off. I don't think it's an excuse.

NFL has played Thursday games every week for the past 4 seasons. This is just about adding more networks to show the games already being played. lol

Right normally no one is going to tune into Ten and Jax if they're not a fan.

There were only 4 blowout games on Thursday this year. Most games were good.

It doesn't matter anyways. Its a cash grab and people who live outside their region get a chance to see their team so that is a plus.
