Crabs is going to get over-payed somewhere else. Especially with this high demand of WR lately in the NFL (past couple seasons).
I wouldn't be surprised to see Crabs get somewhere in the ball park of 4-7 million a year. I don't want to give him that money

Same style player? Boldin is one of the toughest wide receives in the history of the NFL. He has proven over and over again that he can take over games. Crabtree has NEVER done anything like that.

Do fans seriously want this guy back? He's not a good player. The fact we tried to force feed him the ball all year was a complete mystery. Always a league leader in drop %. Slow. No longer has short area quickness either.

I don't expect him to get paid that much on the open market. He'll make some money, but it won't be a tonne and I'd have my jaw on the floor in shock if the Niners even contacted him with an offer this offseason.

Boldin is unquestionably a much better player. He's faster, bigger, stronger and continually produces.

From all indication it seems Crabtree doesn't want to come back. Jerry Jones liked him coming out of the draft. If the Niners do somehow sign him it would be another backward move.

This is what I am hoping for. I want a third round comp pick in 2016. I'm fairly certain Mike Iupati will bring us one. If Crabtree lands a nice sized contract, we could be in for a pretty impressive haul of picks in 2016.

yup, he looks slow and bad foot or good foot,,,, he can not be counted on in the clutch in my opinion. boldin is more clutch than crabs will ever be, sorry hubby but i think your theory is not a good one in regards to keeping crabs and letting boldin go, and boldin is a better mentor for the kids than crabs could ever dream of being

I don't think Crabtree is bad, but I do believe his skillset is better suited to a more quick release multi read option type offense. He doesn't have the skills to guile anyone with a rout. But, then again, I don't think he's been asked to run a deceptive rout for the last four years.... soo... I don't know.

Personally, I think he can perform in the right system, but, it's time for him to demonstrate that with another team. He's one of those players that may need to see similarities in frustration elsewhere before he is able to achieve what he's capable.

Kinda like the talented employee, that defeats themselves with legitimate rationalizations to obstacles instead of overcoming the obstacles in spite of their absurd nature...

Tell it like it is CC. this is a guy who started off with a half yr holdout, then spent the next yr learning the playbook( sort of), then had hx of injuries, and trouble staying on the field. When we needed a money guy, consistently, kap went to crabs, instead of anquan. And crabs frequently broke our hearts. I've seen enough of him and the team that gets him is getting a guy with hx of poor attitude, is selfish, and is not a money guy when the chips are down. Only time crabs has been a money guy is when he wanted a contract. 31 other NFL teams are welcome to take a starting WR...let them enjoy his "value". After all these yrs, crabs shortchanged us. Good luck at his next stop. They will overpay and will not be getting their money's worth. If he stayed here I would be dismayed and depressed. It ain't gonna happen. Give us that compensatory 3rd rounder.

Oddly enough, I have a hard time seeing anyone overpay Crabs. Seriously, the guy is kinda in that second round FA signing group... you know.... the guys Baalke ends up bringing in. I don't think he'll be a 49er and I don't believe he'll command a sum much greater than what the 49ers would offer. He's going to leave... to leave.

Why is Baalke even wasting his time meeting with Eugene Parker what he thinks he can convince him to take 2 mill per yr? Not gonna happen no way he is worth more then 4 mill a yr with his track record. Save some money & draft a big stud WR

just window dressing. i do not think anyone cares but i guess we have to make it look like we tried. like i said, trent will walk in, hear what the agent things crabs is worth and then trent walks out thinking about who will wear number 15 next year
