The team declined once their key core players retired(Justin Smith, Willis) or got stupid(Aldon, McDonald).

Baalke was part of the reason why they were able to reach such a high level in 2011-2013. He was also the reason why the team couldnt recover from their player losses but lets not pretend that he didnt acquire some crucial pieces in 2010 and 2011 that helped make success possible.

Ironically his last draft has been praised pretty highly and could turn out to be a very good one if guys like Buckner, Garnett, Robinson and Blair continue to progress.

Had he drafted more like that consistently he'd still be the 49ers GM most likely.

Nah.

Harbaugh made Baalke look good.

Let's not forget that Baalke was instrumental in letting Harbaugh go, promoting Tomsula and hiring Kelly. Anybody could have chosen Buckner. Garnett was picked a round too high. Robinson is skinny and prone to injury. Blair played little on a 2-14 team. Over the years, Baalke's misses were monumental. Rather than still being our GM, Jed should fire Baalke again.

Having the NFL's best roster at the time obviously had absolutely nothing to do with that success.

If we were to sit here and try to correct all the erroneous reports that we've seen — and the haters are out in full force, as we know."

And as the roster began to be made up of more Baalkes doings ......we all know what happened there.

Harbaugh and a great staff took a team Baalke had very little to do with, made it into a super bowl team which Baalke then decimated with terrible management and moved and to top it off, blamed Harbaugh and co. and destroyed the coaching staff.

We would have been much better off if Baalke never existed. Would we have been better off without Harbaugh? Not bloody likely since before that and after we look like the browns,

Depressing!

I sure hope it works out with Shanahan! Other than Harbaugh ,Shanahan was my pick to be our head coach all the way!

I hope he is our HC for the next 25-30 years! This would mean he is successful in the role.

Firing an employee for being drunk is not an issue. Publicly running his name through the dirt is an issue.

You can move on from employees without making a scene. Just move on.
McCloughan>Baalke.

We should give him a call and see if he wants to work with the Niners as a talent evaluator.

I'll take a buzzed McCloughan over a sober Baalke.
Its pretty obvious Scott is a scapegoat for a lot of issues here. He obviously has a problem, But Bruce Allen and Dan Schneider running someone's name through the trenches? Really? Worst owner in the history of sports, and Allen is just as big of a drunk lol.
