I'm honestly tempted to bring him in for some sort of scouting role. If he's willing to come here, of course.

It's a good thing you aren't in charge of making these decisions.

Former pos. coach to me: "Bruce Allen brushes his teeth with Coors Light." What a healthy workplace environment to bring an alcoholic into.

bring him in as the official party planner
Nice man and a good scout. It's a shame.

IDK about that part. Alcoholics usually show their true colors behind closed doors. Have a feeling his family might have a different perspective.
Bring him in as an talent advisor. Put people around him. He is an valuable asset but not at a point where a franchises future should be on his hands.

People have been understandably hard on Jed York for the Harbaugh Fiasco but you also have to give him credit for handling Scot with discretion and class when he was our GM. As much as Jed has blown it, at least he is not Daniel Freakin Snyder

McCloughan leaves 49ers: "mutual parting"/"a private personal matter"
McCloughan leaves Seahawks: "resigned to attend to a family matter"
McCloughan fired by Redskins: "he's an alcoholic"

Screw PC BS everyone knew he was a drunk, no big secret. The constant red face was a dead give away. Also being an alcoholic is a choice not a disease, cancer is a disease. You can choose not to abuse alcohol, you cannot choose to stop having cancer.
I remember how many of you praised the Skins for hiring him.

From what I remember there were a ton of leaks of his drinking issues just before he was canned.
