I also really like that it isn't over-saturated like baseball.
I LOVE watching football BUT NOT every day.
1-2 times a week is something to really look forward to after a full week of work.

Lots of reasons.
Emotional: born and raised in SF and have been on the Niners for over 50 years.
Philosophical: Every play is a titanic struggle between two of the cosmos' most basic forces, order and chaos.
Mental: It's easily the most complicated and complex team sport ever invented - the strategy, the structure - amazing.
Excitement: To me it's just the most exciting spectator sport there is.
Emotional: born and raised in SF and have been on the Niners for over 50 years.

Yep. Fewer games increases the intensity and importance of each one.
