Baalke's track record for the draft and FA over the last few years is easily one of top 2 or 3 in the entire NFL. People bring up the 2012 draft but don't like to discuss that this guy successfully replaced Whitner and Goldson, two safeties that people on here were seemingly convinced that the 49ers could not survive without. He's made some tremendous acquisitions via trade or FA such as Boldin, Stevie Johnson, Glenn Dorsey...etc. From this year's draft you have Borland, Martin, Johnson, Hyde, Lynch all contributing right now and generally playing well. Then you look at Aldon, Bowman, Reid....etc.

If Baalke is overrated, I'd love to see the GM's who aren't. Even in Seattle they've blown a crapload of picks and made a costly free agent faux pas in Harvin.

Harbaugh is going nowhere. The 49ers know what type of fan backlash they are going to face if he is shipped out. If the egos in the front office can't handle Jim, tough.

Baalke is so overrated, it's not even funny. He gives you this impression that he's doing a lot of quality drafting with his wheeling and dealing....but in general it's almost always him trading down to get more picks because:

1. His talent evaluation skills suck.
2. He figures two picks is better than one because it's one extra chance he'll luck into a quality player.

It's the quality over quality approach and it is almost always inefficient if you're getting outdrafted by the competition.

Keep Harbaugh and lose this Baalke clown now.

1. You couldn't be more wrong
2. That sounds like a great strategy to me

I feel like you are under the assumption that because somebody has a higher draft stock that they are entitled to a successful career.

Well, I guess that settles that and we won't hear any more speculation. (insert sarcasm button)

BRB, easily a Top 5 GM............."nah f**k this guy, I do better than that s**t on Madden doe."

Genius draft of 2012 says hi. Who in this year's draft outside of Borland is standing out for you? Given Top 10 picks he's done okay...but given average picks, which he waters down further by trading down....his track record is mediocre to abysmal.
Oh crap, we're in 666!

I totally agree.....Unless we get Gruden. Aside from Baalke's average draft (would be poor minus Borland), someone needs to be accountable for allowing Kaep to digress. He looked like crap since preseason and we're not just going to do a 180 on offense. I thought we would've picked up Cooks or Beckham but even still, our offenses coaches would've wasted their talents this year. HB is at fault for allowing this offense to falter the last 1 1/2 years under ROMAN. If both of them are here next year, I'm selling my SBL. At the least, Roman's gotta go.

Let's not crown Balke yet. Yes this was a great draft same in 11. Problem is 12 and 13. Btw jimmy Johnson the second greatest talent evaluator in the nfl behind Walsh always said the more picks you have the smarter you look.

Lol

Carlos Hyde
Aaron Lynch
Dontae Johnson

He brought in Boldin for a 6th round and Stevie for a 4th
Changed Miller from a LB/DE to one of the best Fullbacks in the NFL

Is this clown serious?

Harbaugh is not going backwards back to college, dude wants to compete against the best of the best winning the biggest trophy in all football. If he has to go to the dump in Oakland he will and he will be the guy to finally turn that team around. I don't want him gone but damn it he needs to get rid of roman and change his philosophy on offense. That Stanford offense needs to go and he needs to truly run that wco offense

People that trash the 49ers' GM don't get it, and will never get it. Baalke isn't perfect, but he's about as good as it gets. The guy is rapidly approaching Ron Wolf territory.
