I'll be surprised if either of them are still coaching the Niners next year. Hope Fangio will stay tho

1) He changed the entire offensive philosophy from run-first to pass heavy to help Kap to transition to a pocket passer.

I'm actually going to defend Harbaugh here. You can't win in this league without a QB that can make the reads and plays from the pocket. So giving Kaepernick a chance to show he could develop was the only right thing to do. It was a make or break situation. He broke, so now we know.

Harbaugh's failure and his downfall comes from sticking with him when we now know he can't do it, as well as not having a backup plan in the wings.

They'll be better. Harbaugh is that type of coach that's a good coach of a bad team, but a bad coach of a good team at the NFL level.
He looked very humbled in recent interview. I hope that loss is still burning in him and the whole team. I wish the 49ers don't lose another game this season and bring home the 6th Lombardi. That's all we want for Christmas :)

This just pisses me off:

Harbaugh did directly address the immediate future of offensive coordinato rGreg Roman, whose 22nd-ranked attack had 164 yards against Seattle, the 49ers' second fewest since 2007. Harbaugh didn't hesitate when asked if Roman would retain his play-calling duties.

"Yes," he said. "Have unwavering support for all our coaches and our players."

WTF, will this man recognize what is mostly the problem and do anything about it?! I do realize it's late in the season and..what good would that really do.

On another note it's going to be a dramatic off season, as though we need more drama..

The ongoing question we all keep asking; is would Harbs cut lose Roman and other coaches who aren't doing anything worthy and stay with teh Niners with a new OC, QB coach, etc.. ummm

It could be that Harbaugh doesn't want to dump Roman this late in the season and doesn't believe doing so would be of any good. He could be waiting until the season is over to make the change but if the season ends and Harbaugh still has this stance...............he's probably gone along with Roman and the rest of the mediocrity on the offensive coaching side.

What would really piss me off is if Harbaugh said no to firing Roman......got sent packing....and then when he went on to coach some other team, he made Roman then OL coach or some other assistant position and hired a guy like Trestman or Morhinweg to be his OC..........
This is what I'm hoping, it's insane to let Harbs go IF he is willing to move forward with the offensive philosophy, cut down the O staff and replace a number of under performing assistant coaches on that side of the ball..

This end of season drama is just the s**ts, I swear it's the epitome of Drama Queen, though it's Drama Kings. What is being left unsaid is just fueling all of this crap..

Unfortunately, Harbaugh's fate rests in the hands of Greg Roman. He's decided he can't cut loose from his blood brother; damn shame it will cost him his job with us .

That depends. We won't have a line of OCs begging for the job if Harbaugh is force feeding his offense down their throats. We'll just get another Roman -- a yes-man unqualified for the job. We need someone with a track record of success at the NFL level, and Harbs has to be willing to give that OC some freedom to make changes.

Amen to this. As you say if potentially very good OC saw the circus and then had no productive talks about their positioning and meaningful input in the offense went south, they walk, the word gets out and it's back to Jim Raye..oh man..

Coach strikes me as somebody who likes to finish something he has started or die trying.

Some may say that Harbaugh / Roman are tied to the hip or some other body part

Baalke or Jed will have to let Roman go since Harbaugh doesn't have the balls to do it (maybe cause it's tied to Roman's)
