With 49ers, is the only coach you're happy with is Walsh?

Nope. I liked Walsh, Seifert, Mooch, Harbaugh, and Kyle*.

Poor comparison. Head coaches and QBs are apples and oranges. I get your point, but head coaches are a different breed. Would you be happy with Dan Reeves career as your teams' coach?

I'd take Reid any day of the week and if people remember correctly Dungy could never win the big one until he did just that. People just talking out of their @ss because a team fell a few plays short.

Reid who? Andy Reid? We're taking about Dan Reeves. The former broncos/Giants/ falcons coach. lol

The discussion was coaches/ players who couldn't win the big 1. Andy Reid falls under that list too.

Oh my bad. I thought you were referencing the 2 previous posts you quoted. You were just steering the conversation in a different direction about Andy.

I was referencing the overall point just not the coach you picked out.

I hear ya. Hmm. Andy is a good coach. Looks like a great coach this season, but I don't know man. He's kind of always choked out in the playoffs too. Regular season wins are good. Who doesn't like winning? But if a guy never takes your team all the way, wtf are ya playing for. Is it unimportant to win a championship?

IMHO had we kept Jim and he went on to follow Reid with 10+ years of regular season wins and trips to the NFCCG but we never win a SB, a lot of the same people who put him on this pedestal would be the same ones complaining about his inability to win a ring. Not all, but a lot of them.

I'd rather be in it every year. Pretty hard to say for certain he never would have gotten the team there after he got canned out of the blue over a power struggle with that bumbling idiot of a GM. Dumbest decision ever.

Goal #1 is regularly make playoffs

Only 1 coach has done that for 49ers in 20 years, and yet some 49ers fans don't like him

I think you give him the opportunity to win like Philly did/ KC is doing. Success can be very fragile.

That's a tough one. It would be great to be in the hunt almost every year, but at some point you gotta be like wtf man, let's get over the hump here.

Like the Eagles eventually did by moving on from Andy.
