He had to come up with that BS story to avoid being publicly scrutinized & accused of CHECKING OUT ON THE NINERS; just like he tryna avoid taking the blame for his mindless LOYALTY TO GROMAN BEING HIS DOWNFALL IN SAN FRAN, by hiring T.Drevno to be his OC at Michigan instead of GRo!!

Jim Harblah is a running JOKE & a walking textbook definition of INSANITY... not to mention he comes with a shelf life!! Good til 4yrs from now... spoilage after that!! What good coach comes with a shelf life??

I for one am GLAD we got rid of this SERIAL SORE LOSER who hasnt won anything of ANY SIGNIFICANCE as a player & as a coach!! 3 NFCCG & a SB... AND HE's STILL... RINGLESS AFTER 3 STRAIGHT TRIES!! How many chances did this fool want? How many teams across the NFL get 3 STRAIGHT TRIES to get a SB RING?? Dam, even baseball gives ya azz 3 strikes before you're out, & HARBLAH STRUCK OUT!! If you liked Harblah, then he should have PUT A RING ON IT!!

BTW... for those folk who was claiming that dam near half the league was gonna be lined up to sign Harblah if & when we got rid of him...
WHERE WAS THAT LONG DRAWN OUT LINE OF NFL TEAMS READY TO SIGN HIM ON BLACK MONDAY??

lol

Soooo... HE gets to go to 1 more playoff game, while WE dont & have to sit at home & worry about the state of the future of our franchise??

F**K JIM HARBLAH!!

Makes me believe he checked out on us ON PURPOSE... KNOWING the UMichigan job was gonna be open & KNOWING he would get to go to 1 last playoff game in the NFL (albeit without US)!! Talking with UMichigan officials WHILE BEING the HC of an NFL franchise that still had a chance to sneak into the playoffs late in the season... There ought to be some sort of rule against this!! Now he officially just went from Pete Carroll's little BEIOTCH in the NFC West to Urban Meyer's little BEIOTCH in the Big 10 Conference!! Go ahead & run ya ass back to the collegiate level... Urban Meyer LOVES to run up the scoreboard!! Trust me, Urban dont believe in getting a 3pt lead at the half & then sitting on that small lead & riding the nutz of his defense the rest of the game to win!! There's a REASON why some of Harblah's former players at Stanford STILL DONT LIKE HIM!! (D.Baldwin... Go Buckeyes, lol!! )

Were you crying when you typed your first sentence? It actually sounds like you're just sad to see him go. Just because he got released from an NFL team that automatically means he isn't allowed to attend a playoff game as a spectator? As far as I know, any person is free to go to any NFL game if they want and I'm also pretty sure that if you are a former player/coach and your brother is a head coach of a NFL team, its probably pretty easy to be able to go stand on the sideline with the team. None of that has anything to do with what happened between him and the Niners.

I do agree with you on this tho I have always thought that its pretty s**t*y that another team from either the NFL or college is allowed to talk to other coaches while their team is still in contention for playoffs. It's not really fair to the coach or the team that he is coaching or even the fans of said team. All that can come of another team talking to your team's coach and making him offers is distractions. Imagine if we had made it to the playoffs and actually made a deep run, but everyday there was some college team making huge offers to Harbaugh and trying to lure him away. That would definitely be a distraction in some way or another. Negotiations should not be allowed until your team is at least eliminated from playoff contention, or until after the season ends in my opinion.

Man, college football coach (if you're even half way decent) seems like such a cush job. Your basically a god on campus, get paid a ton, don't have all the stress of the pros, and best of all, you get all those hot female assistants on the staff.

its might be more stressfull, College HC is a year round job without an offseason....and right now he has to steal recruits from Ohio St

Am told Jim Harbaugh's pursuit of Lance Anderson is in line with him hoping to land LA & D.J. Durkin & retain Mattison at #Michigan

Yep... Ohio State is no joke with Meyer. Sooo Harbaugh will need to make up for the appeal disadvantage with scouting.

On a positive note: The SEC may be in for a dose of transparency with the new playoff system. It's only going to get more difficult for them if the playoff expands. Ironically, this may be all that's needed for the BIG-10 to get start plucking guys that would have gone to an SEC school to rot for three years until they get their shot or the promise to the guy ahead of them expires.

FootballScoop Staff ‏@FootballScoop

I have every confidence that Jim Harbaugh is going to have a great staff but "he's getting everyone he wants"???

Missed on 1st choice for OC, DC, Strength Coordinator & lead recruiter… It ain't over yet; but "everyone he wants"?

Again, I truly have every faith he'll have a great staff…and might circle back to some of those guys; but c'mon man

On when he realized he wouldn't return to the 49ers:

"I had a conversation with the owner and understood what the direction the organization wanted to go. Not to re-plow all that ground, on to the grand venture here at the University of Michigan. The No. 1 thing I look at is I had the time of my life and will be forever proud to have done the things we did in San Francisco, the coaches and players. We'll be friends and allies for life. Now one weekend into the job here at the University of Michigan and we're plowing ahead. It's even better than I remember it."
