The Tennessee Titans have won the bidding war for veteran defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, agreeing to a three-year, $63 million deal that beats out the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The 49ers are looking to revamp their pass rush after recording an NFL-low 20 sacks in 2025. San Francisco also lost key defensive linemen Nick Bosa and first-round pick Mykel Williams to ACL injuries last season, intensifying the need for edge-rush help.
Franklin-Myers was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Stephen F. Austin. After one season in Los Angeles, he was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets, where he played four seasons (sitting out 2019).

In April 2024, the Jets traded him to the Denver Broncos for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.
During the 2025 season, Franklin-Myers appeared in 16 games, totaling 25 tackles, a career-high 7.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hits, according to Pro Football Reference. He helped anchor a Broncos defense that finished the regular season with a 14–3 record.
Over seven NFL seasons, Franklin-Myers has played in 114 games with 83 starts, compiling 200 tackles, 34 sacks, 35 tackles for loss, and 94 quarterback hits. His career stats also include one interception, seven passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
