I miss having winning seasons.

If this keeps up, we'll be saying we miss SEASONS.

Then the owners will be saying they miss the fans, they really are going to kill this cash cow. I bet a lot of people won't spend near as much on the NFL this year.

The players will miss their Bentley's and entourage. I wonder if punters have an entourage.

New offseason rules will carry stiff fines for violations - PFT

From time to time, teams have been punished for violating the terms of the offseason workout rules. Typically, the offending team loses a week of workouts.

Under the proposed labor deal adopted by the league (but not yet by the players, if you haven’t heard), it’ll cost more than a week of practice time.

The summary obtained by Howard Balzer of the Sports Xchange and 101espn.com shows that coaches would be fined $100,000 for a first offense, and $250,000 for a second offense. Teams will be fined $250,000 for a first offense, and $500,000 for a second offense.

That’s a total fine of $350,000 for a first offense, and $750,000 for a second offense.

And that’s a significant deterrence for any coach or team that decides to skirt these new rules, if/when they are adopted.
I laugh when I hear De Smith say things like the players still have to decide whether or not they want to recertify. Havent they had 4 months to decide that. The NFLPA's inability and procrastination in informing their player reps of what was going on is a big reason why this is happening, I mean the owners have said they would vote on july 21st for 2 weeks now. And then after a hour and a half phone call with Goodell right before they voted the players are surprised? The owners did what they said they'd do.

lmao, they didnt decertify for the heck of it. It was something needed to be done in order to file the lawsuit. And i understand players not wanting to certify again, and I think it's bs on the owners and nfl to say lockout still until re-certification. Not all 1900 players wanna be in a union.

Also the reason why the owners voted so fast was cause it was the deal they already wrote up, with extras put in. So yeah they made their vote quick.

And the players never said that they would vote right away, they said we are not on a timeline, and i dont fault them for it. You can't just expect them to read a 400 page document, and then ratify it right away. Their are alot more players then owners(1900 compared to 32 owners), so it isnt fair to put the blame on the nflpa.

And i might be beating this to death, but owners opted out, and locked them out. Not the other way around. So yeah players should take the time to understand the deal. Not all 1900 players fully understand the proposed CBA or even part of it.

I dont understand how people dont see this, the owners and leagues whole stance is a PR ploy, and a way to throw the blame on the players now. Did u see the presser with Jeff Pash, Goodell and owners. Pash said this is a deal that wont have to be put in the courts like in Minneapolis, but never said St. Louis, which the owners went to. Very smart omission on their part. Way to shift all the pressure on the nflpa.

And Im sorry, I cant stand the owners, they make billions, and dont give a s**t about us as fans, they care about one thing, $$$ Money, Money and more Money.
