Folks are awful blithe about other people's money.

I don't know if that's aimed toward me, but I don't think I am indifferent about other people's money.

I understand that this is a business at the end of the day, but to bicker and whine just to make a statement would be ridiculous. Where were the players duped? I've heard nothing about what the owners had "snuck in" and "screwed" the players with.

Also, the players' money will increase dramatically once the new TV deal kicks in in a year or two... so... I don't know. I'm just being a fan, but damn I sure want this deal to just get done.

We all do. But being that this is a 10 year deal agreement for a multi-billion dollar industry, I don't think either side is being "greedy" by simply negotiating it for their interests.

The fan outrage makes no sense to me. What exactly have the fans lost in all of this?

Free agency, trades, and the Hall of Fame game.

Are we not gonna have free agency or trades?

The only thing that's been lost is the HOF game. Big whoop.
this sucks...

meh to the hall of fame game, but the offseason is almost over and instead of having a constant flow of exciting player news we have had to listen to speculation about this CBA crap. Crappy offseason to say the least.

The players and owners are in fact the ones that earn that money. It's not like they're asking for something that doesn't rightfully belong to them.

Yeah I don't quite understand either, this really has not had any impact on any of our lives. I think a lot of it is due to the fact that we can't be 100% sure there is a football season, the not knowing is killing us. Once this is all over and come Sept. 11 when we are watching the kickoff then no one will care or hold any resentment anymore, and by October this whole thing will be forgotten. Some fans think they have an entitlement to be upset, even though it has nothing to do with them.
as a general rule, I am always blithe with other people's money

Sure, but we're also gonna get the craziest week of player movement that the league's ever seen once it's resolved.

Heck, in a normal offseason you only get a couple of weeks of "exciting" player movement, and the rest of it is extremely uneventful.

What have we lost? All of the offseason programs. We will see what fans lost when the games start and the 49ers are un-prepared because they have had no time to practice.

That is what we have lost.

Let's ask season ticket holders if we lost anything when they watch sloppy, injury crazy football next year.

Nice reach there, by that logic no team will be ready so it will still be an even playing field. And training camps will still start on time so what was missed a few padless OTA's? Alex Smith playing catch and "looking sharp?"

And regardless, fans will still watch...it's football and this is Mother Fu**in' America!

Breaking news we've heard a million times by all these guys. They've been "close to a deal" for the last 2 months.
