Wow, that just ruined my day.

He didn't say specifically not coming to SF, but did say he wouldn't go to any situation without a GM in place and a President of Player Personnel. Plus Gruden and Holmgren have that West Coast offense connection and what not. Basically it's a done deal that he is going to Cleveland.

My lame quick idea that crossed my mind.

Current Eagles OC/Assistant HC Marty Mornhingweg (spelling?), dude knows offense. Sure he stunk with the Lions but was in over his head at the time, has now spent years working with Andy Reid in Philly. He could bring in a bunch of his own guys and actually get the offense moving.

And the added bonus, I guess, is that there is no way Philly goes in to 2011 with both Kolb and Vick. We can trade for one of those guys. Give them a 2nd rounder and maybe a 4th in 2012 or whatever. Get Patrick Peterson CB from LSU with our top pick.
BAM, got us a lockdown franchise CB and a good NFL QB with Kolb/Vick along with someone who can actually come up with an offensive scheme that works.

Just my quick idea that came to mind.

I honestly hope Philly keeps sucking so that Reid and Marty come to SF.

(this time i'm not being sarcastic)

Reid won't be fired. Eagles are tied for their division lead right now.

ya with the QB they blamed for their previous failures.

i dunno. things are strange in Philly. if they miss the playoffs this year Reid might get fired.

COME ON DOWN MARTY MORNEWEG!!!

As I was pointing out last week (and somebody else darted as well one page over), I'm almost for certain Marty Morneweg will be a HC next season, and Reid will trade Kolb (directly) to whichever team Marty goes to for a 'club-priced' 2nd round pick.

It just makes tons of sense for Marty + Kolb next season. Jed is definitely going to want to sell the fans/stadium over by returning the WCO to the Bay Area.

I'm open to Marty. But a second for Kolb I don't like too much. I'm not completely sold and we will have a high 2nd round pick.

AGREED, return to WCO roots with MARTY. You cannot judge a ex-Lions HC by his performance there with the crappy GM Millen.

This is kind of worrying me. We cannot afford to get another bust HC when we have some good core pieces in place to contend now.

Mooch won't come back (no facts here just don't think he will considering how he left the franchise), and while Harbaugh is a nice option I just dont like college coaches coming to the NFL. I mean Pete Carroll had been in the NFL before.

Right now I'm kinda 50/50 on Kolb. In basically 4 full games his stats are pretty good.

1100 Yards 6 TD's and 3 INT's 65% Completion

If anything I think Vick is a bigger risk for the Eagles to keep.
