I would love Jim Harbaugh to be head coach, but I'm still a Singletary supporter and I'm sure he'll bounce back.

I'm a little eerie on considering Jon Gruden as a possible head coach just cus he plays too many mind games on his QBs.

IF gruden came in we would have 7 QBs on the roster

And that means more threads in Niner Talk about starting "X" QB cuz he is the future

That is what I'm scared of. We'd have a new starting QB each week.

Right now, I'm hoping Sing gets it together. If not, I'd be on the Harbaugh bandwagon.

You know its coming. The niners will most likely be cleaning house after this season. Who better to hire as our next head coach than the guy who will shove it down Pete Carroll's throat twice a year? Who wants a ride on the Harbaugh Hang Glider??

i don't know if this is coming, but it should. the sooner the better.

I'll take this guy.

He likes TV and doesn't want to come back to coaching.

I don't want this guy. Sounds like a total douche on TV.

Why all this great love for Harbaugh but absolutely nothing for Tedford at Cal?

Seriously -- can anyone tell me?

Tedford's Cal teams routinely undress Harbaugh's squads. I think Tedford has lost -- what? Once to the Cardinal in eight years?

Yet there's a movement for Harbaugh instead of Tedford.

I just don't unnerstan you kids!

When it comes to big games and pressure

Cal sucks (USC, OSU). 3-10 in our last ranked games.

I havent seen that from harbaugh yet.
I feel that everyone in the zone is in agreement that Raye needs to go. What we need to talk about is who can bring the best out of this offensive roster.

I'll start by suggesting Brian Billick. He's got a good resume as a OC (that 98 Vikings team was record breaking!), he has ties with the Niners, and he's currently just working with NFL Network, and I believe he's folks with Singletary.

Brian Billick, Assistant Coach:

The Vikings made the playoffs during six of the seven seasons (1992–1998) that Billick spent with the team, and set several offensive records in the process. In 1998, Minnesota set a then-NFL record for most points scored in a season (556) (which has since been broken by the 2007 Patriots), and set a team record with 41 touchdown passes. His work under Minnesota head coach Dennis Green put Billick in the Sid Gillman coaching tree.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

at this point I'd take anyone who has seen Brian Westbrook play before

Cosigned! s**t right now I'd just give the job to Mike Johnson.

In the future? If we need a NEW OC from outside the organization by the end of this season I'd rather just get a HC like Gruden who can call his own offense.

Dude will create a new revolutionary offense. The language in the offense may be too complex for some, but finally an offense that is geared towards Alex Smith, who we all know is extremely intelligent. Who's on board?

If an overhaul has to be done, then I'm on the Gruden bandwagon! I just don't think Sing will be fired, Raye will be fired before anything after this season, so far I say Billick would be such a nice fit, with or without Alex Smith.

Realistically even if Raye is fired during the season, we would not make a permanent change in OC until the season was over. IF that happens Michael Johnson likely is the interim OC. Unless a change is made early in the season (before the bye) the chances of this team winning the division become greater. We will seeon Monday if any changes are made to the offense, specifically personnell groupings especially whether Dixon and Westbrook are involved in the offense
