Hell yes....

I had hoped others would wear it as well(Steve Young)

If it worked the 49ers should make it mandatory. It's slightly awkward looking, but that's nothing compared to loss of functionality or franchise players

For real. He's got to be better than Carradine thus far.

Appalled by the utter inhumanity here. Just sick. Some people would rather have the guy risk being a vegetable before the age of 30 .

That's his choice, his body, his money

But com'on, we have all watch 1000s of players have 1000s of concussions. We all know it's bad, and we all know 1000s of players that have lived normal lives post football.

In fact I don't know a single 30 year old vegetable brought on by repetitive concussions due to football at any level(NCAA or NFL)

Possibly bruising the heart or breaking the neck... .... maybe some sort of lack of oxygen to the brain would be needed to bring on the vegetable state before 30... all very rare things, probably mathematically more likely to happen to people that work on ladders like firemen then NFL players.

I got no problem with fans calling him out for being a prima-dona, he left the first time because he was not about to stick around on a loosing team and suck. He comes off as a quitter.

And as odd as it sounds, I don't blame the dude one bit, I boxed and did some MMA, along with football as a youth and young adult. I walk around with aches and pains for nothing. I do think clearer at some times then others... if I could go back in time ... I would have changed things I did as well.

I appreciate the guy not hanging around for a paycheck and being another player that goes though the motions so he does not get hurt, but instead gets others hurt.

So I think he was a man and stood up and did the right thing.

To be fair the statistic regarding children raised in single parent or broken households doesn't lie it holds some weight no matter what race you are. Just a little research online will overwhelm you with data to support it. Now that doesn't make it an absolute but it sure puts kids behind the 8 ball instead of ahead.
