I would not be surprised if this was a prelude to that. They may be looking at making a run at Shannahan, Chucky, Holmgren, Billick or Fischer (should he get canned).

Lerner may be tired of losing and does not want to lose fans. With the possibility of Lebron leaving the Cavs & the Indians sucking he may want to give the city some hope and Mangini def. does not give them that.

Better be prepared to sign a big check to get one of those guys however.

As for Mangini, he should start talking with HBO in the NOW and see if they can give him a Sopranos spin off starring himself because he may be jobless in 2010.

Stupid decisions like this are why the Browns are going to remain a very bad team for years to come. That team has very little talent on it, so it's going to take years to improve it. They need to allow some time for things to work out before just going in there and firing people.
