putting a team in Vegas, especially the raiders who have historically turned a blind eye and had the bad guy reputation was such a great idea. young millionaires, lack of discipline/structure in a place called Sin City where alcohol and fast cars are everywhere. great idea

Why are you blaming the city when the league has had players doing dumb s**t in every city? Should we say a team shouldn't be in San Francisco cause of what Aldon Smith, Reuben Foster and Ray McDonald did?

I feel bad for the victim here, I do not feel bad for Ruggs.

Unfortunately driving under the influence is a societal issue, happens everyday only this time it was a NFL player behind the wheel. Sad situation that we can all learn from. Tech companies provided us with Uber, Lift, etc. DUI Penalties and fines have gone up to prevent this from happening. We are all waiting for tech companies and law enforcement to save us from us and this may be the answer: https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/184050-engineers-create-the-first-laser-breathalyzer-for-drive-by-dui-enforcement

But at some point, we the people have to consistently make the right decisions for the sake of everyone. Until then...

RIP & prayers to the victim(s).

This. Its not like you can't get into stupid s**t in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Phoenix or Chicago. Green Bay is pretty much the only place where your options for nonsense are greatly restricted.

I have to admit that I have driven under the influence several times in my life. I'm sure many of you have. Under current laws, if you have 2 or more drinks in one hour your BA level will be over the limit in most cases. Even though you know you shouldn't drive you always think you're okay.

Sorry but that is BS

If you are planning on going out for drinks you have a designated driver or uber decided before you ever take a drink

Alcohol impairs judgment. Making the call after drinking is f**king stupid and irresponsible

First of all, I'm talking about many years ago (1970s and 80s ) before there was as much public awareness. Before Uber was even a thought in anyone's mind. The legal limit back then was .10 not .08.Some places it was .12. Rules were not near as strict as they are now. Designated drivers weren't often thought about.. Not saying it was right back then but times were much different. Now with all the awareness, stricter laws and lower limits, it's crazy to drive unde rthe influence. There are way too many options, especially for someone like a pro athlete that has a lot of disposable income.

I wouldn't even drive my own vehicle when I could rent a limo and have him drive me anywhere I wanted to go.

!56 mph. He was still going 126 mph when the airbags deployed. I don't see any way he gets out of this without some jail time. That extreme speed could land him in the can for 10 years or more. Had he been going closer to the speed limit the impact would have been far less and that woman might still be alive.

And he'll deserve every bit of that time. He literally has ZERO reason to be driving intoxicated. The league has a service for these guys on top of them having the ability to pay for an Uber with zero after thought.

f**k this guy and f**k the stupid ass system that will let him off lightly cause he can afford a lawyer but couldn't afford a taxi/Uber/limo

Meanwhile guys like Richard Sherman gets a pass after wrecking his car luckily not killing anyone and trying to bust down doors. Now obviously what Ruggs did is faaaaaaaaar worse but it still BS that people actually felt sorry for Sherm and coddled him.

Yes I have a DUI and yes I was an absolute moron for driving under the influence. Pure stupidity.

We have all sped home drunk bc we were horny

amirite
I really doubt that Ruggs will ge toff as some people seem to think. If his BA level was below or close to the limit they may have had the charges reduced to reckless driving but he was double the limit and driving at 156 mph. According to Nevada law felony DUI involving a fatality requires 2-20 years with no parole if he's found guilty. I don't see how they won't find hi guilty. He was the driver. He was drunk. He was speeding. He killed someone. What defense could he put up besides the idiot defense.
