I see nothing promising about any of those guys you mentioned and if any of them see significant playing time this team is royally screwed.

So, you're saying we should dump Foerster and hire a new OL coach. Apparently, the current one, despite recognized improvements in several players is not good enough?

What would you take for the #33 pick?

I disagree. I think Colby playing the way he did as a *rookie* is fantastic. Brendel's value is more in terms of a athletic pass blocking center vs a dominating hall of fame Mike Webster/Alex Mack run/pass blocker. Scheme is also important in picking players. 49ers are a left handed running team - in part due to Trent playing left tackle. They are a right handed play action team because Purdy is right handed, so Mckivitz doesn't need to be a all world Trent Williams 2.0 on the playpass calls.

Now I'm not adverse to adding OLine talent. I've pounded the table for a top flight OT due to Trent's age, but ShanaLynch have other ideas. I think defense is a greater need this year than offense because I think Kyle and Foerster can coach up day three OLine picks to day two or day one value. Kyle scheme also allows for day three picks to perform at day one levels (Jauan Jennings for example). I'm still hoping for a day two OLineman pick today, but I think they go defense - unfortunately for me.

Trade back and take an Edge, there is a group of really good edges left.

Move to 36. Turn a late 4th into pick 102. Raider get Boston. Cardinals reach on QB or take edge. Bills go DT. And youre on the clock.

Alright, who were the day 1 winners and losers?

Winners:
Cowboys A+
Giants A
Browns A
Tampa A
Bears A

I thought Cowboys were clear winners...they went into the drafting needing defensive help and boy did they get it. And then they turned 2 5ths into 2 4ths in the process.

Giants and Browns had a ton of capital. And they made it count.

Tampa and Bears let the board fall to them and combined need, talent and ridiculous value.

Losers:
Rams D-
Arizona C-
Seattle C-

49ers
Trade 1: A+
Trade 2: B
Overall: A-

Browns and Cowboys are both A+
Browns keep fleecing teams for picks, trading down and still are getting value picks.

Rams are an easy F given the context. Maybe something happening with Stafford that we don't know, and if so it makes more sense but that pick is a disaster.
If there's a grade lower than F I would give it too.
I love the trade downs. I didn't not want lomu and was concerned we were gonna get him lol.

Im all for Pregnon, Mcneil-Warren, or maybe Boston but after another trade down.

All in all, I cannot complain.

The Cardinals picked up a player that will be good, but still has a long way to go and now you have a rb that is paid 50 million guaranteed.

Seahawks picked up a rb while talented, has never started a game and now hes probablg RB1 out of the gate. It could work better since theoretically there's less wear and tear on him.

The Rams should have grabbed Lemon and made my nightmares come true, but seeing them reach for Simpson and seeing how pissed McVay is made me smile.

Idk how others are feeling, but I love this offseason all and all.

Jacas, Moore, Barham. Plus the mighty mites. There's some good edges that fit our needs.

Take Bell early.

Clean ACL injuries are not a chronic issue in the year 2026.

I've always thought Foerster sucked,I have no clue what recognizable improvement you're talking about outside of McKivitz being medicore.

Other than maybe McKivitz what lineman has he developed?

Laken Tomlinson was a failed 1st round pick that they traded a 5th round pick for. Kyle developed him to be a decent starter for a couple of years. Jake Brendel was undrafted. I like Conner Colby. Dominic Puni was a 3rd round pick that played immediately like a first rounder.
Tomlinson played well pretty much immediately once he was acquired so I don't see much development there,Brendel has never been mediocre, the fact that Puni started and played well immediately doesn't indicate there was a whole lot of development necessary.

Yeah, I didn't get the pick either. Jimmy is contemplating retirement, but I thought Stetson Bennett was a pretty good QB in the making. Then again I don't follow the Rams the way I follow the 49ers.
