You're making the pick at #27, who do you take?

it's a bad draft to pick late Rd1

maybe Mesidor or Kayden McDonald if they're there
Proctor or Lomu if they're there
CB Chris Johnson as a safe pick, but could be a reach

I'd trade it for a #1 WR
or trade back

Damn I keep going back and forth between McDonald and Cooper Jr. Hard to pass up that kind of monster on the DL. Pair him with Collins and Mykel on early downs with Bosa and no one is running on us.

Whoever is BPA on Shanlaych's board. No reaching for need.
Kevin Concepcion. He is special. Play in one of the hardest conferences in NC. His Team won back to back state championships.

No one. Don't like the back end of the first. For once, do a big trade back and stock up in 2nd and 3rd rounders. Some nice depth there.

Gonna change my pick to Monroe Freeling if they release Trent Williams.

The two OL are my choice
Sadiq if he falls

* I don't think Cooper goes R1 anyway

I understand. But you dont just go, our pass rush sucks take the next pass rusher on Kipers board. Our WR room sucks take the next WR on Kipers board.

I love Cashius Howell. I dont expect him to be there at 27. But he is either a 3-4 OLB or a limited use designated pass rusher in a 4-3. One of those is worth heavy capital and one is not. For Bills, Bucs, Broncos, he makes sense.
I hope they sign Mike Evans in FA, so I wouldn't go for a WR with the first pick.
Skyler Bell in the 3rd and/or Eric McAlister in a later round (5th-6th) would be my choices as WRs.

Howell's T-Rex arms are IMO a huge red flag for a 1st round pick,... really risky
And there's a bunch of very interesting Edge prospects expected to go late in the 2nd round,... Gabe Jacas, Derrick Moore, Joshua Josephs and Romello Height are IMO as good as anyone expected to go late in the 1st or early in the 2nd.
I would take Romello Height with our 2nd and release Bryce Huff who's gonna be very expensive next season.

As OT, I prefer JC Davis who's expected to go in the 4th over those like Freeling, Miller or Iheanachor predicted to be picked late in the 1st or early in the 2nd.

So I would go for a DT,... Caleb Banks or in case he's gone, Kayden McDonald.
Take Landon Robinson with the 6th and we'll have a totally renewed IDL (with Collins and West),... a strong and dangerous one

I'd prefer Max Iheanachor. Even if they don't release T Williams I would not mind picking an OT at 27 but more ideally after a small trade back to 30-33. Even a trade back to 30 could yield 108 + 168. Those would be two valuable extra picks.

But Phoenix clearly states if those players were on the board. He didn't state which other players would you choose.

A better pass rush will actually mask our secondary somewhat. We aren't really bad back there anyway. Just have some S problems. The CB's and slot cover guy are pretty good. Better than some secondaries. But not the best one.

Sure, but the question wasnt what is our biggest need...

Pass rusher and WR probably are the biggest needs. Getting to the QB was a total disaster without Bosa. We can't do it and he's coming off triple ACL. I hate picking WR again. Agreed on pass rush and I am also sick of WR. I picked Freeling and after hearing about TW today... yeah even more so. None of the WR matter if Purdy is running for his life after .2 seconds.

I am not super high on Howell right now. I would rather go with Parker if the choice was there. I do need to read more on them though. The depth at edge is nice this draft. Completely agreed on Safety. If they take one, he needs to be a FS with special coverage ability. The first 4-5 picks could be all trenches and I wouldn't be mad.
Morgan Freeling because they need to plan for the future FINALLY and draft a young LT. Doesn't matter whether Trent stays or goes this year. None of the other prospects are so exceptional that the Niners can't pass them up.
In before every single one of them rises up boards after the Combine.

KC Concepcion
Kenyon Sadiq
Monroe Freeling
Cashius Howell
Take the best player available and do t over think it.

McDonald had 65 tackles, 9 TFL and 3 sacks. As a NT getting doubled nearly every snap.

There are guys I'd take ahead of him: Denzel Boston, Kenyon Sadiq, KC Conception but none of those guys in the poll would bring as much of an instant day 1 impact as McDonald.
I like Boston but who knows who will still be there at pick 27.
