Saying that and I like him--I'm surprised by how many people have him ranked so highly as an edge rusher. The guy is sooo raw. He's quite a bit of a projection and has a long ways to go. The flashes are tantalizing, but I think he's risky for a team like the 49ers who is specifically looking for a guy to come in and get after the QB. This situation might not maximize his skillset if that's all they draft him to do.

I love Barham. Want him at 58. But it'd be a complete disservice to just put him on the line on scrimmage as a static position.

I want to take advantage his range, his awareness, and his violence.

Yeah so I can easily be way more down with Lawrence at #27 than Barham at #58.. just passing on too many other better players with that 2nd round pick + too much risk. Earliest I can go Barham is late 3rd trading back somewhere to get an additional pick where he is more on the same tier as the players in that region to justify it. Feel the same about Crawford.

If we still had pick 92 I bet it would be more I want him at 92 than at 58. But with no 92 it becomes 58 or he may not be there by 127. Barham to me is a 92-127 pick somewhere in that range.

Will be fun to see what slot he goes!

I would be more than fine taking Barnham at 58. I think he's going higher than folks want to admit. I can see Morris being all about it….chess piece he could use. Sure a trade down to acquire more picks would be ideal. I'm a fan of Crawford as well

agreed im curious where he would be played. I see him as a pass rushing LB more than an EDGE. He has great instincts always around the ball and a great run defender. He played EDGE last year in Michigan but played previous years at LB. I think he is a bit light to be a full time EDGE so i would perfer LB who can line up there occasionally but play more snaps at LB

Well, we don't know anything about what Raheem Morris plans to do with the scheme, so it's impossible to say.

Would love to see Barham with the 58th pick. Barham is all over the place when you watch him and is a beast off the edge, good first step that seems to make Tackles struggle to block him off the snap. Also a pretty solid tackler like Fred Warner, from what I saw he plays the run pretty well even when he's not the first guy there. He reminds me a lot of KJ Wright.
The Raheem Morris pressure designs are going to be so fun. This is why I'll always be biased towards 5-man fronts; you can do so much more with them in regards to pressure packages. I think this is where a guy like Barham fits in that Jalon Walker spot. I'm going to be so disappointed if it's week 1, and the 49ers are in their base wide 9.

Dumb ass James Pearce!!! So disappointing.

That play is more of a nod to the DC than Pearce. You don't get props for being a free rusher.

I'm praying this is what Morris is bringing to SF: a lot of disguising, confusion and muddy looks for offenses with a little blitzing sprinkled in.

No what I mean is Pearce is a dumb ass for getting arrested and screwing up his career. Lol

But I see Barham playing the Kaden Ellis role who's just all over the place on Morris's defense.
See, now malachi Lawrence is the Pearce and Barham is the walker!!

Except Pearce and Walker both mid-1st round picks....

But I like the thought of Lawrence and Barham/Crawford in this type of scenario
@adrianlesnar

do you know what's going on here? I remember I found this picture while I did my original dive on Lawrence, and then completely forgot about it. It's very unusual to see a DL with knee braces.

I got nothing. Rumors of a 2025 spring practice precautionary meniscus management type situation.
