I haven't watched Lawerence at all, but from athletic/measurement profile that's pretty on point.

Damn not gonna be there at #92 now ... sigh.

But those measurables and testing should make him worth #58 now (or sooner)

It was fun to get him in the 5th round on the PFF mock generator…I imagine after the combine the update their grades.

Ive been drafting him at #92 consistently if he is available there on the other mock sim site profootball network. He's ranked in the 90s there and after the combine should move up higher. Question is is he worth #58 now.

Plus hard to know what range Durant is now going to be slotted - been picking him often at 127 but he should move up now as well.

I did a mock yesterday morning on PFF and forgot about him and he just happened to be there at pick 171 so of course I grabbed him.

I did another one 12 hours later(after he did his workouts) and was going to grab him in round 3 to make it more realistic but he wasn't there. I looked back and realized they had him go at #57 lol.

It's always funny to me that PFF uses their grades to make their board(although it's still part consensus) but then after the combine they'll move a guy 100+ slots in a blink. Sure it makes it more realistic for making mocks but talk about not standing behind your grades lol.

Dani Dennis-Sutton is someone I've been waiting on. You'll see him named in my mock drafts from teo years ago haha. But my interest in him waned the longer I waited. He was known as a freak athlete, but I never thought it translated to anything more than a "fine athlete" on game day.

One things for sure, Penn State continues to work wizardry...their guys are ALWAYS ready to show out at the Combine...

I can DEFINITELY see him as someone the 49ers would covet because he also has some size that is missing from the class.

He flashed Senior Bowl week too. I wouldn't mind getting him at all if we miss out on all of our other favorite guys
Small school prospect out of Southeastern Louisiana. Excited to see that the athletic profile checks out because he just destroys FCS opponents on tape. The highlight reel is man amongst boys.

I watched the game against LSU and it really shows what he is and what he is not. First, I was amazed by his motor. He damn near played every snap in the first half. LSU is up 35-0, dominated time of possession, dominated number of plays. His offense goes 3 and out every time and he just doesnt really check out. He's even playing special teams and blocking and covering punts. Wild for a 290 pounder.

That being said, against the run, hes washed out of plays. The pads are too tall. The weight and strength in the legs is not there. And hes just walked back. Now maybe offenses are doubling even more than they would next to a proper 1 or 0 tech. Maybes hes conserving some energy. Maybe in limited snaps, next to a 320 pound NT you can tell him to shoot gaps and he'd have a better chance, but its more likely hes just not very useful on running downs.

The upside and path to making a roster is all in the pass rush. And there the numbers speak for themselves. 9 sacks on the year and he was able to sack Nussmeier twice. Both sacks he created and earned. On these passing downs hes just a different player. As a 3 tech, hes just some jump steps and fakes to across the face of the guard in an instant, and once he gets downhill he is agile enough and has enough skill in hand fighting to slip by. Even in a phone booth, he is just destroying guards. Shows great speed on stunts. Has a decent counter spin move. Comes across that he has a plan. And when the play drifts away, the motor still shows.

Ultimately, he's a rotational depth piece that you bring in on passing downs and let him loose on the QB. Might have more value in a 3-4 if you thought you could fix the run issues.
Gabe Jacas - 30 reps. Confirms the tape. Dude is a bully.

The ankle mobility to maintain balance when cornering at full speed, the hip flexion to bend under the arms of the tackle, the flexibility to separate lower half from upper half, hips square up field, but shoulders and feet taking him around a sharp corner.

Hmm, you just described Harold Landry.

I think there's going to be a really good DPR edge waiting for the 49ers with their second pick. They should be able to get at the very least get someone there that can help them from day 1. Another scenario is a trade back from 27. I don't think you have to grab any of these guys at 27, tho.

Must have been the lack of wind drag on his hands
Zion Young or TJ Parker in the 1st if we go DE.

2nd round really seems like the sweet spot for guard, corner, and DPR. All ready to contribute from day 1.
We can look at all the other positions but we know our F/O, this (DL) is all they are looking at in round 1.

I love it but I hope we take a BPA approach in this draft.

Trade back to 40 and get 3 extra picks and draft Lawrence.
