Glad we won't have a shot at him. One of the biggest boom or bust prospects. I will eat crow if I'm wrong but I don't think he'll play up to his draft status, at least not til many years down the line at best. His tape screams athletic bust to me.
How is he a boom or bust to you?
he had one of the highest pass rush win % of all prospects had 2nd most most qb pressures and tied for most sacks this year even last year in Stanford had one of the highest pass rush win %
he has a decent amount of pass rush moves and may have the best first step out of any prospect In the past few classes
He doesn't have a consistent plan, he inflated those numbers by beating up on bad competition and got destroyed by top prospects. He is all potential and projection more than polished. I just didn't see a first rounder on tape.

Hope numbers just are slow to come in and we dont have a bunch of coward defensive ends. You're all freaking tiny, go prove your worth with agility times!

Cashius Howell (@AggieFootball) reached 14.52 mph while rounding the corner in the pass rush drill, the only defensive lineman to exceed 14 mph during the 2026 Combine.

Howell posted the fastest pass rush speed by any DL prospect since Will Anderson Jr. (14.90 mph) in 2023. pic.twitter.com/Bo0AxRfHBW

I haven't watched Lawerence at all, but from athletic/measurement profile that's pretty on point.
Damn not gonna be there at #92 now ... sigh.
But those measurables and testing should make him worth #58 now (or sooner)

It was fun to get him in the 5th round on the PFF mock generator…I imagine after the combine the update their grades.

Ive been drafting him at #92 consistently if he is available there on the other mock sim site profootball network. He's ranked in the 90s there and after the combine should move up higher. Question is is he worth #58 now.
Plus hard to know what range Durant is now going to be slotted - been picking him often at 127 but he should move up now as well.

Dani Dennis-Sutton's athleticism shows up. 22.2% TPS win rate the last two years. Nasty spin move as an interior rusher and shows he can drop in coverage pic.twitter.com/JPWeydvmIM

Parker had a great SB week and tested very well at combine he was a top 5 to 10 pick before the year and his tape last year was really good. If he is available he may end up being the best EDGE in class . Peter Woods was also seen as a top 5 to top 10 pick before the year and also may be available when we pick after Clemson's bad year
Acccording to BR Mcdonald did not do great during position drills
Caleb Banks tested ridiculously well (HT: 98th percentile WT: 89th percentile Hand: 94th percentile Arm: 94th percentile Wingspan: 99th percentile (longest at the Combine for DTs since 1999))
Howell tested at the 0th percentile in arm length but was ridiculously fast during timed drills. You have to look at him purely as a 1 dimensional speed rusher and accept that he may have trouble holding the EDGE and athlethic OT and once OT gets his hand on him he might be shut down.
Plenty of other EDGE rushers tested really well just depends where you want to spend the draft capitaol but i think Moore and Lawrence will be out of reach with 3rd rounders. I also think Halton and Durant tested well they may be both out of reach in 2nd round

Dani Dennis-Sutton is someone I've been waiting on. You'll see him named in my mock drafts from teo years ago haha. But my interest in him waned the longer I waited. He was known as a freak athlete, but I never thought it translated to anything more than a "fine athlete" on game day.
One things for sure, Penn State continues to work wizardry...their guys are ALWAYS ready to show out at the Combine...
I can DEFINITELY see him as someone the 49ers would covet because he also has some size that is missing from the class.

My full scouting report on Cashius Howell, who is as tricky to project to the NFL as any edge rusher in recent memory
— Jon Ledyard (@LedyardNFLDraft) February 27, 2026
The strengths are so strong, but the limitations to his game could show up more in the league than you'd like if you're taking him earlyhttps://t.co/DvLi0XYCV0 pic.twitter.com/vNlZV1Wfmc
The ankle mobility to maintain balance when cornering at full speed, the hip flexion to bend under the arms of the tackle, the flexibility to separate lower half from upper half, hips square up field, but shoulders and feet taking him around a sharp corner.
