WRs: 2026 Draft Class

I don't think Jennings has much bearing at all on the need for a true XWR. The 49ers have a gaping hole at that spot whether Jennings is around or not. With Pearsall always banged up, they don't have anyone that can win on an island on the backside. Teams will continue to stack their coverages towards the offense's passing strength until the 49ers get a XWR that demands respect from the coverage. Right now, this receiving group is a joke to defend for that Seattle defense.

Meanwhile we were dead last in pass rush metrics. Priorities haven't changed. Rush the f**king passer.

I mean we saw we couldn't pass the ball at all vs Seattle. We need help at WR in a big way. Pass rush and playmakers on offense are probably our biggest needs.

FWIW we were top 10 in passing attempts this year as well…we couldn't run the ball or stop anyone on defense. SF had to throw the ball

think we can go a lot of ways in this draft…really hope they spend some cash to help make the draft more flexible.

Omar Cooper is also a guy I can see Kyle falling in love with. I like a lot of WRs in Round 2-4 but with the way Kyle hates rookie WRs it feels like any non top 40 WR pick will ride the bench.

Honestly I'm with you.

I think the chances that San Francisco resigned Jennings slim to none. I also agree with you if we did sign him it doesn't change our need for an X wide receiver.

I could see JJ going out to Tennessee, based on saleh and him being from there

We also couldn't create pressure on the QB vs Seattle. I hate sounding like NCommand but I'm all about drafting Oline and Dline in this draft. Since tackles are above average let's address the G's and C spot and get some pass rushers. The Oline can help us establish the run since our passing offense is always predicated on running the ball. Kyle drop back passing has always been ridiculed by people who know more about ball than all of us. But if he can get the running game going all of a sudden players get wide open and get a false sense of their worth and think they are worth way more money at WR than they are.

It would change their need for a WR. You lose a starting WR with nobody on the roster that can replace him very well. Plus Kyle is an offensive guy. I'm sure he wants a true #1 WR but they aren't likely to get one picking at #27. Lynch may win out and they take an edge rusher. I hate to keep saying this but as always it depends on who's available when they pick. Losing Jennings would just increase their need for another receiver. Of course they may sign one in free agency but that would cost them more.

No one was getting open vs Seattle either. I'm cool with adding talent via FA at WR or in the trenches. It's gotta happen though. We can't run out Robinson and Ricky next yr and expect success on offense, just can't.

I wonder how NC is doing? Hopefully he's okay.

I don't see SF spending big cash on a FA. I do see a possible trade or someone that gets cut. I do see them drafting someone. Not sure when
This draft is stacked at WR and edge. It would be sickening to not double dip and land difference makers at both positions. I am begging Kyle and Lynch to pick one of the obvious good ones.

Bernard, Hurst, and Thompson. Thompson is one of the fastest players I've ever seen. If the kid can show he can run routes he would be an insane add for any team.

Also nice seeing all the "draft guru" channels on YouTube suddenly posting stuff on Ted Hurst.

We've got nearly 3 months until the draft. By the time it comes we'll have seen nearly every possible player listed as the Niner pick in round one.

Nah. Most drafts people tend to hit on several of the prospects the 49ers draft. Definitely helps to pay attention to who they talk to at the Senior Bowl as that has regularly been a common link with who they end up drafting.

Sure the do. If you pick enough people someone is bound to get some of the choices right. Every week we see fans making predictions on the score of the game and how man TD passes Brock will throw. Most are wrong but someone usually gets it right.
Personally, I think ShanaLynch should tell CMC he'll be mostly a split receiver from here on. A new #1 RB (Nick Singleton, 3rd?) should replace CMC in the backfield. Piersall, #2 receiver; Jennings (if resigned) would be #3. Cowing, Watkins, etc. will complete for #4.
