Once again the experts in the 49ers front office would have been better going with a webzone favorite the first 2 days of the draft. Getting awfully tired of this s**t - taking project "scheme fits" in round 1 that don't pan out over proven productive players.

Pearce finished his rookie year with 10.5 sacks. The most in a rookie season since Micah Parsons. We absolutely need exactly this right now.

It's so dumb. Lynch and Shany are just awful. I'm so tired of them. I don't think you can win with them. Just terrible in the draft.

lol might want to go back a few pages . If not don't worry I posted your comments in the lynch thread
also what happened to you being so adamant that they be able to preemptively identify character concerns? And In this case it was broadcast everywhere.

You want to make sacks and win games. 10.5 sacks would have really helped this team out in 2025. With Bosa injured. Going forward for the future too. Instead we get a set the edge run defender with the #11 overall pick. Typical Shany/Lynch. They could have had a pass rusher.

What the heck are you guys talking about? Like seriously...do you follow this team or do you just look at box scores for your evaluations?

First of all with all the character red flags on Pearce there was no way he was going to be our pick. Second Pearce is Bryce Huff. A speed rusher who offers nothing in the run game except to hope to chase down outside runs if he's not getting blown off the ball by TEs.

We run a very different scheme here and Mykel Williams is a MUCH better fit for a wide 9 than Pearce. Atlanta had pass rushers for days allowing Pearce to get singled up a bunch. Put him on the 49ers and he's getting worked and doing nothing to help us stop the run.

Also through 9 weeks Pearce had 1.5 sacks. Week 9 is when Mykel was injured. They had .5 sack difference at that point with Mykel having more pressures than Pearce at that point.

You have no idea what would've happened the rest of the way for Williams considering the bulk of our blowout wins happened in the stretch he missed which would've given him a lot more opportunities for obvious pass rush downs.
Also I just went through and looked at his sacks. Out of the 10.5 this year I'd say 4 were legit him beating his blocker. The rest were either cleanup sacks, QB holding it too long and then getting swarmed or stunt based plays where OL lose track of him.

Heck I'd love to know how he got .5 a sack for this play...he didn't even touch the QB

Simply put nothing on tape showed a guy that the 49ers should regret on drafting. If he's playing with us this year instead of Mykel i'd be surprised if he got over 5.
Looks at year end stats..."see!!!!"

Never mind us allowing career days vs every RB we face since Williams went down...and i didnt even like williams.

you mean have a good enough team where we can still win when we have injuries all over the team?

Also i find it funny you comment on not wanting people with character conccerns ad then say we shouldve drafted this guy you are comming of as a hypocrite. Also if you remember last year we could not stop the run at all that was the priority in the draft it was 100% right priority that needed to be solved

Once again the Front Office shows that taking players with red flags is a risk not worth taking in the 1st round.
