if you wanna get into reality, the reality is the NFL named Deion to all decade team, hall of fame, nfl 100th anniversary team and on and on it goes. so i don't see evidence of snubbing deion, if anything the nfl loves sanders.
if the nfl wanted to rig anything, i think they would rig it that sanders goes pick 2. it's a lot easier to sell browns games if sanders is pick 2 than riding the bench. it would make cleveland more marketable than starting a very grizzled joe flacco or whoever they may start. i guess everything can be a conspiracy theory if you look for them you will find em. the great part is they require no hard evidence.

We were still building our team and have two capable QB's, if we'd have picked our 7th rounder over him, then yes I'd have called us out.
What's laughably absurd is that you among others won't even consider something that they've literally been caught doing before.
Is the Chiefs stuff I brought up fan fiction as well? Or is that different because it affected you?

the league hasn't been caught doing anything. if you are talking about the nfl rigging games for kc, yes that's a made up fan fiction claim that ppl have fun with.
the nfl doesn't have to rig any games. now if the nfl did rig games, they would end the sport. so let's see, everyone watches the super bowl, no matter what. but let's juice up the super bowl, by rigging the teams and outcome, and risk our entire sport, to gain nothing. and try to wrap your mind around how many ppl would have to be in on the nfl rigging games. the poor lil ref who makes no money would be highly incentivized to sell his nfl rigging games evidence to any news outlet. can we at least think this stuff thru? this would be very bright ppl risking multi billions to gain a penny. and the rigging could be found out at any time. ppl can find out 20 years ago that the super bowl was rigged, and it would damage the integrity of every super bowl. you would have a near infinite number of lawsuits, from players, coaches, fans who pay for tickets to a 'rigged' game, let alone the betting market. it is so unserious to think this is a real thing.

notice you think everything is rigged by bad actors. the games are rigged, the draft is rigged, ok well if i felt that way, i wouldn't watch the games. i wouldn't watch the draft. i'll be over here, enjoying my nfl product, which is non rigged. what i like about the nfl, is these prospects bust their tail to make the league. at the end of the day, where you are drafted isn't the big deal. it's what you do with your opportunity. it's about to be expanded rosters, and you cut that down to 53, and a lot of ppl are out of their nfl dream. it takes insane work ethic, drive, focus and it's fun to watch these guys chase their dream, that's what i am into.

I agree . I don't think Deion was the biggest x - factor for the draft position . It was for sure a factor .
i think it's more the coach son dynamic that hurt his draft status . No one really knows how coachable he is and those interviews didn't shed a good light on those theories .

When Deion came out he was really arrogant but he had the skills to back it up so teams overlooked that part of it. He declined interviews with teams picking outside the top 5 or 10 because he told them they wouldnt be in position to draft him so there was no need to do the interview. I think he showed up at the combine ran his 40 and left right after.
If he passed this advice down to his son then no wonder he fell. Reports have already came out about how he bombed the Giants interview. He must have rubbed Mike Tomlin the wrong was too because that dude is going to start Mason Rudolph as his starting QB unless old man Rodgers finished his acid trip and plays. .

Yeah it's pretty bad when even Mike Tomlin says "Nah". I think the whole "We will force a trade if the wrong team drafts us" was more detrimental than his arrogance.

SS's tape was just not that good. Teams don't want the distraction associated with this type of player who will start as a backup. Tebow, Cam with the Patriots, and Kaepernick all suffered the same fate. SS should take this as an opportunity to learn humility, light a fire under his tail, and go work to prove he can play. Every failure is an opportunity to grow and become a better person. He now has the chance to do so.

Were the interviews even worse than reported? Was everyone petrified of the noise Deion would (will) make about Shedeur starting? Are teams worried that he'll act like an entitled brat that won't work?
Even then, with all of that considered his floor ought to have been the 3rd round.
The league has done this before, yet people still refuse the possibility that racism (or more accurately Placism) could have come into this.
The league wants people to know their place, especially young black kids and even more specifically young black Quarterbacks.
I think it's sad that no one even thinks it's a possibility that is what happened.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he doesn't exist.
And here it is folks. The racist card. I had a feeling this is what you were alluding to the previous couple of pages. Beating around the bush. Mentioning how it got political with your friend.
Take this crap out of here!

Ok I'll bite. It's far more nuanced than that, which I why I brought up the Any Given Sunday interview which imo is absolutely spot on.
QB's are expected to act a certain way, they're the face of the franchise, so I get it, but when one upsets the apple cart they aren't treated alike.
Baker is confident to the point of arrogance, rubs people the wrong way, got drunk as can be, chased by police and arrested. Had his maturity and love for football is questioned, let's see how much that cost him in the draft process. Oh yeah no problem he goes #1.
Jonny Manziel is a whole other level of arrogant, so much so he coins his own nickname. Parties all the time and by all accounts bombs all of his interviews. Affect on his draft stock? Minimal goes #22
Ben Roethlisberger is accused of multiple sexual assaults, affect on his draft capital? Picked #13th
It goes further, women face the same cr*p. You get a guy that goes around sleeping with everyone on campus, he's a legend, a girl does it she's a hoe.
You're treated differently in society if you reflect those in power and they can see themselves in you. A mistake is seen in certain ways and people will look for different angles depending upon your race, gender, social class or schooling.
I didn't want to make this political, I came up with a fun hypothesis of whether or not it would have happened to Tayvis Swift-Kelce. Phoenix at least had the decency to reply with a reasoned response, as did Kriz. In a league where nepotism is absolutely rife at all levels, this is the first kid to ever be negatively affected by it. There is much more to it than the racist card.

All those players you mention had a much better grasp on the employee - employer dynamic.

And Big Ben was never accused of anything prior to being drafted.
