You're assuming they are set on OL in the 1st. I'm fine with it but I prefer going defense at #11 if not going to trade down. But in a small trade down to get an extra 3rd and possibly 4th round pick I'm fine going in almost any direction Lynch wants to go - OL/DL/EDGE/CB/WR/TE/LB - any position works just grab the best player.

But we have so many needs it should be easy for us to grab who we think is the BPA. Just draft great players not OL just because we need to address OL.

If they think Campbell is BPA sure take him. Banks or Membou surely won't be - but in a trade down if we go Membou I'm not going to hate it at all as I really like the player.

Because OL is never the sexy pick.

Very true. It's why we see teams drafting WRs when they need OL or DL. I recall the Lions drfting WRs 3 straight years in the first round and 2 of them never panned out. The Eagles have it right. Build the foundation first before you add the granite kitchen counters.

OL players can last a long time in the legue> If you nail that down you have seeral year to add the sexy receivers and RBs. D line, especially edge players get banged up a little more which is why it's important to have a lot of depth there.

I'm not assuming anything. I am saying that is what I would do. There is much more depth on the DL especially at tackle where they can get a guy who can contribute right away in rds 2-4. I am all for OL in the first and then focusing on defense.
Majors moving around pretty well. Wouldn't mind a day 3 pick at a possible center of the future.

He won't be BPA at 11. Let's get some value back for our pick with an extra 3rd if going to draft him. 14-17 is about right.

BPA is different for every team….BPA at a position of need

BPA is different for every team. Folks gotta stop with draft BPA. It's BPA at a position of need
100% agree. I'm old enough to remember Bill Walsh drafting Lott, Wright, and Williamson in the first 3 rounds when he was drafting to fill a huge need but taking great players at the same time. That draft immediately fixed their secondary and helped win a sb in their rookie season.

This is why I wouldn't take Warren in the first. He may be the BPA on many boards but he shouldn't be the 49ers pick simply because of Kittle
Campbell seems like a really likable guy

He's very athletic. Can mirror and slide. He has some good film. Appears to be very powerful. Only lacks height and it's apparently not that bad.

Since when is lacking height an issue wtf? This ain't basketball. The only reason anyone should even bother looking at height is because typically there's a correlation to length there ie a taller individual is typically a longer one. In fact, there's a strong argument to be made that being shorter while maintaining the requisite length is a massive advantage to any player in the trenches because it gives that individual a natural leverage advantage to inherently play low while also being able to play long.

As of today, he's who I want at 11, or if they can do a small trade back and still grab him, that's even better. But I'd have no issue with him being the guy at 11 right now. The game reps are impressive as hell, and dude is young as f**k.

Yeah I think there's enough here that you can draft a good player and fill a need.

Also, don't draft an OT because that's the biggest need, if the right dude isn't there.

for me I think Membou and Campbell can roll at multiple positions. Not sure SF will draft Campbell because of the arms, but everything else is pretty sweet.

I think there's a tier after those guys. I'm not a banks guy, him in Conerly Jr are in that same tier for me.

Anything regarding Donovan Jackson? He's my new late first / early second guy for the 49ers with LG and LT potential.

Yeah that's kinda where I'm leaning as well. I think he's a day one LG of battles Colton at RT in 2025. 2026 we might be needed two starting OTs.

Im not sure he makes it past the cowboys or Miami in a trade down.

Looks good today, not sure if he twisted an ankle or something in one of the drills though.

wouldn't be shocked if he sneaks into the 1st.

Can get him at #148 Deebo's pick probably. Would love that.

Well we have a **** ton of needs. DL/OL/WR/EDGE/FS/LB

No one is arguing drafting Jeanty at #11 if he is BPA.

But for example, if Lynch thought say Jihaad Campbell was BPA at #11 over all the other options outside of RB/TE, then we should draft him at #11 if we cannot trade down.

If they think W Campbell or Banks or Membou is BPA then draft that one of them. If they think Nolen/Grant is BPA draft that one of them. If they think Burden is BPA then draft him. If Will Johnson is BPA draft him. Same with Pearce Jr etc etc.

Personally with Saleh back I think we should give him a defense that he can work his magic with. He needs way more elite talent than we have so I'm a fan of loading up on defense and getting FOUR new beasts on the DL.

Trade down to 17

1. Grant DL
2. Umanmielen EDGE
3. Makuba S
3. D Alexander DL
3. Belton/Pierce OT
4. Jamaree Caldwell DL
4. Jacob Parrish/Cobee Bryant/Mohammed CB
4. CJ West DL
4. Knight/Mondon LB
5. Majors C
6. Kyle Williams WR
7. Nikolas Martin LB
7 BPA

I see no reason to have a rule against staying put and drafting all of these guys. Saleh could turn our defense with this draft into a top 5 unit again this year.
