I get it, but im tired of sifting through the landfill for olinemen (especially centers) and wish they would invest in some talent higher in the draft. Having a legit center would then make me think sifting through garbage to find decent guards is more viable.

I want them to draft THE center, not to be chasing down someone else's sloppy seconds. Bring in a guy that can start for a decade plus and build a good working relationship with your young QB.

This. Build your center. We have been chasing the FA center and vet center forever. Kyle knows what he wants. Draft a guy with elite traits and get him where you need to be. To add, I don't think any solution that has us looking to free agency is a real solution.

100%. I said I would rather suffer the growing pains with a rookie center, but seeing the improvement as the season goes etc. then some old never was never will be etc.

sucks this guy isn't coming out. He looked perfect. Is there a center thread yet?
They should Puni at center
I'm ready to be hurt again when they don't draft this guy in 2026.

4. Logan Jones, Iowa Jones was the Power Four's highest-graded center this past season, earning an 83.6 mark. He was particularly dominant in the run game, leading all Power Four centers with an 82.3 run-blocking grade. Despite weighing only 293 pounds, Jones is a powerful player who gets to the second level with ease.

He's no slouch as a pass protector, placing 10th in the Power Four with a 1.8% pressure rate allowed this past season.

After you posted about him, I started looking into him. I really wanted him. No focus on OL his year so I am glad he went back. I was thinking we could pick him in the late 1st next year. Now we need an OT first. Have to see where he will end up ranked, but I was thinking he'd go in the 2nd.

Same. We have less projects in 2024 and 2025 so it's likely many of the picks work out. If that's the case, they can come away with a top OT and C prospect. May need to trade up to do so, but we have the picks.

I expecy us to be drafting anywhere from 18 to late.
Need him in 26. Please. I'm begging.
If hes that good, wouldn't he go earlier than where we pick?

Well, Centers are never that highly rated. And we don't know, of course, where exactly we will pick. I don't see an issue with spending a 1st on a center, even though it won't be well liked. And the 2nd on a tackle. While most will call for us to take a tackle first, I tend to think that we need to lock down at center for the next decade. Jones looks like the man.

He and an OT with 1st 2 picks would be nice
As if we would pick OLine..

Good point, I also agree and wouldn't mind spending a 1st on a Center if we believe hes going to be our long term center. Regardless if Brendel sucks this year or improves we can improve at this position.
Somebody hit up Kittle's social media account next year to suggest that he will skip training camp if we don't pick this kid from his Alma mater.

I can see a world where Puni is LT next year. There is far more depth at C than would warrant moving Puni there.
Time to bump this back up. With a plethora of mid rounds picks, there is no reason to not do this. Now we know Kyle isn't going to play this guy at center, even if he did start there, but with his strength he should be able to hold up at LG for a season or two, correct? It allows us to get a real center of the future that can get some immediate experience in this system if Jones starts at guard, gives us some flexibility with Spencer Burford if we do resign him (he can back up at LT and LG), and puts us in a position where we could an an athletic (which we know Kyle loves), yet strong center than can hold up against those dominant DTs
