Trading Up Thread

Can someone post a chart or pick value conversion to show what realistic compensation is to move up in the draft.

There seems to be so many unrealistic trade scenarios brought up and even though trade value is different for each team isn't there a minimum value to move up a certain amount of positions?

Do you see this year as a year that me see a significant trade up to land a potential high value starter?

Going to have to trade a 2025 1st to move up from 31 to the top 20. So may as well try to get up to 15 because I think it would cost the same. I am ok with trading a future 1st if it means getting a top 3 tackle in this draft. This draft is loaded with 1st RD tackles and elite tackles at that. I don't know if the Niners will have any better chance to get one than now in this draft. Most drafts you need to get into the top 5-8 in order to get that elite tackle but this year I think you can get one at 15-20. Don't wait and let the draft come to you. Go up and get your guy.
In 2022, KC moved up from 29 to 21 with a late 3rd and a 4th.

I'd use a 3rd round pick to move up a few spots for Amarius Mims if he was there.

We have too many picks. Maybe 5 rookies will make the roster. Need to move up to take top rated talent.
I haven't been following the draft process for years now, but when I was balls deep in the draft, I always referenced the Jimmy Johnson trade chart as a good guideline for draft pick value.

Our 1-3 picks gets us around pick 15 maybe? Fuaga, Latham maybe there? Fautanu, Mims for sure. Will you be ok with that? Then address remaining with your 8 remaining picks including 3 4th rounders and we address ourstud RT.

For me, if we sign a few low to mid price free agents to fill our roster I'm ok with trading up. But if we sign another big FA along with just a couple of low cost signings. I would like to keep our picks and fill our roster from there. Our team especially our studs has a lot of mileage and getting old pretty fast. A little trade up is fine for me.
I suspect the trade up happens for the 2nd round. Some good value going to be there. This draft is not as deep in other years, the guy that runs the NFL combine said the draft drops off around the end of the 5th. If we can package some picks for those middle rounds we should be good.
Trding up is great but they have to find someone that needs the extra picks the 49ers can offer. That's not always easy because other teams also look at trading up and they may have better picks to offer. That's the bad part about finishing high every year. You get bad picks. This year there will be 30 picks taken ahead of them in each round.

Yeah, it takes 2 to tango. I'm sure Lynch has been checking for teams wanting to possibly trade down. Bears got 2 first rounder picks but very few picks after. Their 2nd 1st round pick is too rich for us. How about Broncos at 12? They also have few picks but gain a couple after Jeudy's trade. The 3rd team is Miami who also have just have 6 picks. They sit at 21 and that one can be attainable if they want to move down. Our 31, 3rd, 4th, 5th should do it. This would be the ideal and we have 8 picks total with the trade up. Then we can get a higher end OT.

This is the year to do it. Getting one of the top tackles would be sweet. We don't have a lot of spots for many rookies to come in, even as depth. Get some talented and cheap young players

Kidding. The 8 picks we would have left after such a trade would be tail-Enders. We have been lucky with a number of 5th rounders but to expect such luck and even rely on it would be more than unwise. With a number of our stalwarts approaching difficult times both in age and size of contract we just cannot afford to do this. Nor, as has been put forward by others, can we afford to throw next year's first into it. With Purdy approaching a large contract this year and next year's drafts are the fundamental building blocks of the team for the next five to ten years. I don't think we will trade up in the first and certainly not give away most of the value of the draft for one pick.

I think that we do. Armstead and Juice have both been put into play and there are others who are either getting old or expensive. And a few who just do not look good enough. You say that this is the year to do it. We already did it and it didn't work. Time to use the draft to stock up.

If Miami bites with our 31, 3rd, 4th, 5th..
Our picks will be 21, 2nd, 4th, 4th, 6th, 6th, 7th

We can also trade down from our 2nd or trade up with our 2 4th if the team wants. After today, we only have a few holes to address and we just need some of our younger players to get some playing time. Of course we're just throwing ideas in case the team decides to go up and get one of the OT that they like. I'm ok either way.
Starting to come around to the idea of trading up for a WR. Will need to be someone who blocks so that he can see the field right away, and who can work the deep ball to compliment what we already have. They don't need to be able to do what Deebo does, but they need to have the upside to be a WR1 or 2 once deebo walks.
