2024 Draft Class: WR

Him or Coker for me. Rosemy-Jacksaint is a consolation prize, and I like Wilson and Polk for this team specifically, but expect them to go earlier than I am wanting to spend for a WR

Yup, he's a "my guy" in this draft.

Wouldn't hate it, wouldn't like it, and wouldn't do it.
Ladd is largely considered the best route runner in the class FWIW.
And you are right, Peter's mocks mean something and he definitely talks and has connections with the 49ers

I agree with you. But all I want is for the 9ers to prioritize the O-line in the 1st and 2nd rounds or maybe the 3rd.

I can't see the 49ers using their first pick on a WR. They have more pressing needs.

If they are truly keeping BA this year I see no reason to draft a wide receiver in the first round. From what Kyle demands of his wide receivers it would basically be a redshirt year and we are getting little if any contribution from the first round pick. They can take one later or even double up to prepare for the eventual departure of Deebo or BA. For a team in the bottom of pass attempts a 1st would be to much investment in the position in my opinion. It would be different if we didn't have other needs. Personally my preference would be a top CB if one's there or if one of the top Tackles slips to us.
Yeah, I don't see it either and we know what we need the most. But wait, just for the sake of argument Shany really loves one of this WR early and let's say it's Ladd
Mconkey at 31. They already know that they will extend Aiyuk and trade Deebo next offseason. Wouldn't it make sense to get his eventual replacement now? Sure, different player between Deebo and Ladd. But 2 supreme route runners of Aiyuk and Ladd?

But what about our OT? If we miss out on the top tier group and was unable to trade up, we can get one at Round 2(63) or trade up in the mid 30s-40s. Call Washington with their 36 or 40, Titans at 38 and a couple of teams who wants to accumulate picks. Let's say for our Rd 2, Rd 4 and a Rd 2 or 3 next year(this pick might eventually be the Deebo comp pick and not currently looking at the chart on what a decent comp for that trade up btw).

1. Ladd or any WR that fits-(Deebo -salary dump/ eventual replacement while already in the system this year)
2 OT
3. OG/OC
4. CB
4. DT
5. OT
6. S
6. LB
7. RB

Team has tried to stay ahead of any clear needs so even if they pay Aiyuk WR in the first round makes sense if the guy is BPA.

For me I'd be perfectly fine with us taking any of the top 4 guys if they fell(they won't) or Adonai Mitchell.

I wouldn't hate McConkey cuz I think he's going to be super consistent to whomever drafts him but with him and Worthy I worry about their size. I know Devonta Smith has stayed very healthy despite size concerns but both guys are pretty light for their frame and bulking up could impact their game.

I'm also very high on Legette and would love him in the 2nd round but don't think he makes it.

It will be interesting to see how they approach the position with or without Aiyuk. I think getting a guy who can beat press coverage consistently is key to getting over our Chiefs hump.

I wouldn't hate it. McConkey just kind of checks all the boxes for this offense. Not my first choice and I don't think he's the next Cooper Kupp but I do believe he'll be a high end #2 WR at the NFL level. He's like a Pettis that isn't soft and lacking in effort.

Dude looks like a white Amon-Ra St. Brown. Is he just a slot WR or will he be able to play outside in the NFL? Because drafting a slot WR at 31st overall for an offense that plays majority of it's total snaps out of 21/22 personnel isn't a wise investment. 49ers had the second lowest 3WR grouping usage in the NFL.

He played the vast majority of his snaps on the outside in college and I don't see any reason why he couldn't do it in the NFL.

Just wanted to throw one comparison up there:

Worried about that previous back injury for Ladd, but that efficiency chart..

Love me some Baker, Malik and Tahj Washington, and Roman Wilson.

Who's that Brenden Rice guy? Is he anybody? What round is he going to go in?

Geez.. pretty much identical with G Wilson who was the 10th pick couple of years ago. Saw that video today...Good stuff. BA/ Deebo/CMC/Ladd with Purdy throwing.

And Kittle but hope Purdy has enough time to constantly find one of these guys.

If Ladd or another WR is our pick at 31, we can still address OL with some trade ups. Check out my response above at thread 349. I'm sure the OL will get replenished.

Just saw this as well and raised my eye brow....

I was wondering if they'd pull the trigger on Malachi Corley if he is there in the 2nd.

Why are folks thinking Corley is worth a 2nd? I don't see it with this kid overall. Fun highlights. Runs like a RB. He's not a very good route runner. Deebo was way better than him imo.

I see more Amari Rogers than Deebo if that's what people think they're wanting with him. I'm out on him in the top 100. Better guys.

Just think he's Kyle's type but would rather take a flyer on a wr late unless they love a guy at 31.
