2024 Draft Class: WR

Post about your favorite WR prospects here.
I think we desperately need some speed out there. The trick for this team is finding speed that can still do everything else we ask in this offense. Here's a few, in no particular order:

1) Xavier Worthy, Texas (6-0 172 4.34)
Dude is a true speed demon, but also showed no fear of lowering the shoulder to truck guys at the college level. This shows me he has the toughness to fit the character of our team, and should have the willingness to block how we expect.

2) Ainias Smith, Texas A&M (5-9 191 4.36)
Built like Steve Smith, and tough as nails like him too with the same game-breaking speed. May take some time to develop as a route runner, but he could definitely be used a lot like we use Deebo.

3) Jermaine Burton, Alabama (6-0 194 4.42)
Dude comes from 'Bama so you know he can block.. But when I watch him play, the dude eats up space SO QUICKLY. He was known as the go-to guy, and I can see why when I watch the tape. Guy accelerates so fast, especially after the catch. Screams 49er target to me. I've read "4th round" as his projection. If he's there.. that's a steal. This guy looks like a 1st-2nd round talent on tape to me. Even if he's not a finished product, I think you get him with a good coach and he has a chance to be a star in the NFL.

Kyle's a Texas alumni I imagine he wants Worthy.

I'd go a little bananas if we got Worthy. He would boost our group and our return game.

I love Burton as a prospect too, I think he's one of the most complete WRs in this entire class.. only problem is.. I got to digging deeper.. and found out why he's dropped on boards a lot. Huge character flags.. which means we probably won't touch him.

Arizona has been very good to the 49ers lately with Purdy and Aiyuk. Why not keep it going?

I worry about Worthy's size a little bit. When we've missed on receiver it has been guys who were fast but lean i.e. sub 200 lbs ( Pettis, Danny Gray)
no block=no play
Getting Cooper Kupp comparisons

Also look at him blocking his ass off

He gets really wide open, routes are precise and he is quick. He would wreck in the 9ers offense
Troy Franklin

Xavier Worthy

Those routes in the other post, good gawd they are incredible. I can barely breathe watching them they're so freaking good.

I haven't worked through all the receivers in this class yet and now I gotta watch more of this Ladd. (pun intended )

This looks like a guy Shanahan would absolutely SALIVATE over.

What I like is his toughness for his size. Dude runs hard and does not shy away from contact.
We taking pretty Ricky

Ricky Pearsall

Great hands and yac

I hate Arizona but this dude is a special route runner

I have no doubt he will find success, probably as a slot wr
