Ok When forced to become a technician, he has lots of lapses on ways of how to win once the hands of blockers are latched on to him. Paye struggles with mentally processing counter-attacks to execute. Instead, he ducks his head and attempts to overpower through the upper body of the opposition with executing bull rush attempts. For as athletic as he's described to be during testing, he's not an overly bendy edge rusher. While there's minimal stiffness to his game, he's not a defensive end that excels with entering lower domains to withstand and surpass blockers around the edge or apex of the pocket. Mainly aligning as a tight 5-technique (outside shoulder of the offensive tackle), he has a two-step stutter move combined with an effective shoulder shimmy, but that's the totality of consistency that he's shown as pass rusher. Developing another go-to move will eventually become necessary in order to take the next step as pass-rusher.Originally posted by NYniner85:Originally posted by Tony16Gambino:Yup this kid is very overrated and who ever drafts him will be a little disappointed to say the least. Negatives (–):
It's easy to tell that he's programmed to win solely based off of his athleticism and power. When forced to become a technician, he has lots of lapses on ways of how to win once the hands of blockers are latched on to him. Paye struggles with mentally processing counter-attacks to execute. I see him as a late 1st rounder at best and I'm basing that from the games I watched on TV instead of some workout.. I've also seen or read about GREAT workout that skyrocketed players stock and ended up nothing more than an average career.
YES, I could be wrong, but it's RARE !!
