Pitts is made for Shanahan. Just like Aiyuk, Deebo and Kittle.

What? there was only one more FB that had more blocking snaps than Juice this past yr.

He's the foundation of the run game. That's the building block of Kyle's offense.

You take him off the field for 2 TE sets you're changing the philosophy of what Kyle's offense has been.

I disagree on this one.

Some point to the fact Coach has Kittle, so why take a TE that early. Fair question. Here's the answer: great as George is, his style of play gets him hurt a good deal. As things stand now, there's a huge drop-off in talent when GK's on the sideline. Adding Pitts would dramatically improve that. The dude's 6-6, @ 245...and will no doubt be asked to bulk up some to withstand the rigors of the NFL. Just imagine...whoever's our QB would have Kittle & Pitts at TE, Deebo & Aiyuk at WR. Good luck trying to stop that. Pitts is an instant mis-match...too fast for LB's, too big for DB's to cover. What a RZ threat this kid could be. Isn't that what a 1st rd pick should be...a game-changer? The rest of the answer is this...with the compensatory 3rd rd pick Lynch just got by WFT signing Martin Mayhew as their GM, JL now has 11 picks to work with. He can do as much wheelin' & dealin' as he needs to so he gets Coach the players/skillsets he wants/needs.

So you're spending a top 12 pick because you're worried about Kittle getting hurt? It's a luxury pick more than anything imo.

They ran 12 personnel one of the lowest rates last season.
You only make this pick if he is the BPA and you think he can contribute right away as a OW. Im all for that. Resign Trent, solve the mess at C, and drafting an OW like Pitts would give JimmyG everything he needs to be successful.

Shanahan deploys him differently than some other run of the mill FB. Regardless, Pitts should be considered a legit possibility at 12.

So what if it's a luxury pick? That doesn't matter.

Hell yes I'm taking him at 12 if he's there. I know it's not a need but he's legit sick. He'd be a huge weapon in this offense and pairing next to Kittle would be sexy as f**k.
I have no issues of drafting Pitts especially if Jimmy G is our QB. Jimmy throws way too many IR balls. f**k just ask Kittle. He's going to get our guys killed soon. So why not. Can't have too many weapons

With that said we have some other areas that need to be addressed.
In january a guy mocks Pitts to us and everyone goes crazy.

Too much free time fellas.
Might be good idea to have another star te on the roster just in case Jimmy throws another high pass to Kittle lol

I don't care how good Pitts is, you can always find a very good TE later on...

TEs should never be taken in the 1st round, just look at those TEs from Stanford.. and those who were drafted in the 1st round..

Kyle Rudolph, as good as he could have been, he hasn't shown much since his PRO BOWL MVP.. those Iowa TEs who got drafted in the 1st round, (Detroit and Denver)... can't even compare them to our own Kittles..

Been saying this since before we drafted Vernon Davis

Agreed. He's likely more primed to play in the slot.

I understand that, his main role (by far) was as a run blocker. Like I said he had the second most run blocking snaps among all FBs. He was also used as another protection call a lot for Blitz pickups.

Again he's a foundation player for Kyle's offense. You take him off the field or Kittle with pitts. Personnel groups matter for Kyle. The run games matters for kyle.

Yes we have no CBs on the roster, a OL that's below avg standards, one edge rusher coming off a ACL (with no one else), a trash QB situation, but yes let's draft a TE "big slot" WR

Big fat no thanks with that. There's plenty of WRs to be had in this draft if the plan is to make them a "big slot" only guy.

That will be known well before draft day.
